Kicking Off The Spring Season

We took the fall season to adjust to being on a select softball team...and boy was it an adjustment! We survived and our team even decided we wanted to go for a second season this spring.  Another mom and I were volunteered to be "Team Moms" by our husbands and we both said that we were happy to do it, but we didn't want to do it on our own. We decided we wanted to try and plan some get-togethers off the ball field for the girls to hang out, along with some other fun things too.

We organized our first get together for yesterday before our first spring tournament. Sometimes, the weather can be a little brutal in the spring...like freezing cold until about the end of April. As a way to deal with the coldness, we decided to have "A Twist Blanket Party". What kind of party is that you ask...well, it is one that we made up! We had the girls come to our house with their chosen fleece in any color combo they wanted as long as it was Twist colors.

We cleared out the playroom to make room for the girls and their fleece. And they they partnered up to cut and tie their fleece blankets. {if you have never made a fleece knot blanket, they are the best and warmest blankets EVER--and easy to make!}

Of course, I took a few pictures so you can see what "A Twist Blanket Party" looks like...

Landry so much wanted to be like the big girls so Ashton hooked her up with her practice  jersey from the fall season...it was so cute and they asked me to take their picture. That never happens...score for the Mamarazzi!

Ashton and Payton

Jaelyn, Maggie, and Kylie

Haley, Mrs. Jahnke, and Kellie

Mrs. Green brought some Papa Murphy's pizza so after all that blanket making, they scarfed down some pizza and lemonade.

Always gotta have a silly picture with this crew!!!

A group picture with their finished blankets was a must. {Lexi had volleyball and couldn't make it so we made her a blanket and had Landry stand in for her while we took the picture!}

And we couldn't leave out the siblings...so we took a picture with them in it too. They made a blanket since it gets pretty cold sitting in the stands at the games!

We had a fun time and only one mishap....

With all the furniture cleared out of the playroom, it is just one giant open space...perfect and so tempting for gymnastics and what not. So while we were waiting for all the girls to arrive (even after being reminded to not get crazy or rough) the girls were upstairs doing gymnastics. While a few of them were trying to do handstands with their feet against the wall and cartwheels, one of the girls slipped on the carpet and her knee when into the wall, creating a nice dent/hole. They were devastated and embarrassed and VERY apologetic. Without all the details, Bobby handled it really well, and no one was hurt so that was a good thing.

We did learn that we will not be having parties where the playroom furniture is cleared out any time soon! The temptation is  just too much for little girls to handle!

We are ready for some Twist 02 Softball...bring on the cold days!
