I love when I get the opportunity to spend some quality time with the girls one-on-one. During the school year I spend way more time with Landry because Ashton is at school all day then Daddy is usually the one who takes her to softball practice. So I get all kinds of giddy when the opportunity arises for me to get some special time with just me and my Big Girl! Tonight was one of those nights for a date with my BG!
This is Macy's first year to perform a solo in dance and it is the first year that the solos were on a separate night from the studio recital. We've seen her rock her solo on the computer, but we haven't been able to see Macy G perform it LIVE! I took this as the perfect opportunity to take Ashton to see Macy's solo. She was so excited to see her BFF do her thang and rock her solo!!
I love spending time with my first born...she is growing up so fast and becoming quite the young lady...sigh!
Of course, Landry wanted a picture with us too. She wasn't happy that I was going somewhere with just Ashton {LP really needs to spend some time away from her Momma} but at the same time she was pretty excited to go on a date with her Daddy all by herself!
Macy's solo was impressive! I was like a proud momma watching her on stage...I can't believe she is only nine and is up on a stage all.by.herself!! Dancing is definitely her "thing" and you can see it in her eyes and in her smile when she is on the stage!
After MG finished, she was like a celebrity on the red carpet...everyone wanted a picture with her. Not only were Ashton and I there, but a few of her school peeps were there to cheer her on too!
These girls look so dang BIG...crazy, crazy, crazy!
I hope they never stop doing the peace signs in pictures....
...or hugging the guts out of each other!!
{can't forget about the Lil Sis}
Daddy and Landry had a special date of their own....all of which Landry got to pick. She chose Which Which for dinner and a sno-cone for dessert. I love that my hubs remembers to take pix for me--my Mamarazzi-ness is rubbing off on him!
{gotta have the traditional "sno-cone tongue picture" to end the evening!}
I really do enjoy and cherish these times with the girls....and I know BBryce does too. I look forward to the next one and many more from here on out!
