Since the holiday season is upon us, that means we cram as much as we can into a month's time. We have established so many traditions that sometimes it gets a little tricky trying to squeeze them all into the holiday craziness! We sure do try our best and we have two little girls who absolutely love every single tradition and they would be crushed if we missed one so that makes us try even that much harder to get 'em in.
One of the traditions we squeezed in tonight was Merry Main Street. This is one of our faves and we always have such a good time. The city of Frisco goes all out decorating a part of downtown known as Frisco Square with gorgeous lights. Among the lights (which dance to music that is played on the radio) are fun activities and decorations throughout the month of December.
Before we headed out the door for a yummilicious dinner at Christina's we had fun taking some pictures...
I am a sucker for these pictures....I know I have a ton, but there is just something about the girls holding their Daddy's hand walking side-by-side that just makes me melt. I love it!!
A new edition to Merry Main Street this year was the ice skating rink. When we got there, we wandered up during a neat ice skating performance. There were a bunch of kids skating and performing. After the show was over they opened the ice for anyone to skate. We passed on that since we still have a wee one that isn't quite big enough for ice skating just yet. It was fun to watch for a bit before we started getting cold sitting still so we walked around to get our blood pumping.
These little sweeties were all bundled up looking cute in their winter gear!
As a bonus, they both flashed a smile for the mamarazzi!!
We decided to take a ride in the horse drawn carriage. Landry could barely contain herself...it was so cute. Throughout the ride, she jibber jabbered about how princesses rode in carriages pulled by horses. The driver was super sweet and gave us all kinds of info on the eight year old horse pulling the carriage. Her name was Annie and she was a good horse. One of the things we all loved about the ride was hearing the clip-clop of Annies hooves on the pavement.
After our carriage ride, we wandered over to the decorations and the fountain to take some pictures. They aren't the greatest pictures, but they are good enough for documenting the fun time we had!
A trip to Merry Main Street wouldn't be complete without a stop at Popparella's Popcorn and Treat shop. I didn't get a picture, but we munched on some popcorn as a fun treat.
After we finished up at Merry Main Street, we were ready to head home and get warm. While the girls were getting their jammies on, I made some hot chocolate to sip on while we talked about the fun we had at Merry Main Street.
As crazy as the holidays are, I love the fun traditions we have.
