We love us some Baylor Lady Bears in our house and we especially love when we get to actually attend a real live game! Now that Landry is getting older, it is a little easier for us to go to sporting events like this. She basically gets excited because the rest of us are excited, but whatever works. It also doesn't hurt that she gets to see Grammy and Grampy when we go visit either.
We left on Sunday after Landry's nap and made our way south on I-35 to Waco. We grabbed some dinner and headed to the Ferrell Center to watch the Baylor Lady Bears (ranked #1) take on the UCONN Huskies (ranked #2).
Gotta have the annual picture with the wall sized Brittney Griner. It cracks me up how teeny tiny the girls look standing in front of the 6' 8" girl!

RGIII is a regular at the Lady Bear games. However, since he won the Heisman Trophy last weekend, he can't sit in the stands without being mobbed. So he just casually stands in the tunnel with security. Rebecca Lobo (the sideline reporter for ESPN interviewed him at half time and the fans caught a glimpse of it on the big screen). The girls were star struck when they saw him in in the Ferrell Center watching the game like a normal dude.
The Lady Bears lost in the Final Four game last year to UCONN so it was awesome to see the Lady Bears win!!! The place was so incredibly loud and the fans were pumped....it was so neat to be in that atmosphere!!
I am so glad that the girls (and my hubs) are sharing my love for Baylor and the Athletics program. It makes it so much more fun for me to enjoy the games with the them and know I'm not torturing them!
Way to go Lady Bears...Sic 'Em!!
