BryceLeonardScheer Christmas 2011

In keeping  up with our crazy December, we had another fun evening planned full of celebrations.

Carly turned SIX a few days ago and she had a super fun craft party with her friends to celebrate. Well, since the age difference between the kids is sort of getting in the way, we always make sure we have an extra special celebratory dinner so everyone can shower the birthday kid. And, as you might recall, we are in the thick of Christmas which means we needed to squeeze in the BryceLeonardScheer-Mixon Christmas exchange.

Tonight, we all gathered over at the Leonards house for a double dose of celebrating. We made it a combo by doing Carly's birthday dinner and the kids' gift exchange.

The boys went and picked up Pei Wei for dinner while us mommas chatted and the kids played. After we inhaled our dinner, it was time for the birthday girl to open her presents. I absolutely LOVED watching Carly open her presents, she was so animated and made the greatest and cutest faces!

I am still having a hard time with the fact that she just turned S-I-X....I am pretty darn sure she was JUST born and she was just an itty bitty baby. Time is seriously flying by way too fast! Anyway, how stinkin' cute is she with her cupcake and her candle! I could squeeze that face!!

After the fun settled from Carly's birthday festivities, we moved on  to the kids' gift exchange. This is always so enjoyable for everyone. A few weeks ago, the kids each drew a name. They had to make sure they didn't draw their own name or their sibling's name...and once they picked the name of the person they were buying a gift for, they had to keep it a secret. Watching them nearly burst with excitement about giving their present was priceless! We usually have them open presents in birth order from youngest to oldest.

This *might* be one of my most favorite group pictures EVER! They are all snuggled up with REAL smiles and every single kiddo is looking at the camera.
Wait...the fun didn't end there! We managed to squeeze in cookie decorating thanks to  Miss Gina {decorating cookies for every holiday used to be one of our traditions, but we kind of had to scale back on that since the kids are older and busier}.

Miss Jodi snapped one final picture before we cleaned up and headed home! It was a great evening...we loved spending time with our peeps and loved all the memories we made.

Oh...if you enjoyed seeing pictures in this post, you can thank Miss Jodi. Yep, I brought my camera, but didn't pick it up once I walked in the house. Where would this blog be without the other part of my mamarazzi team?!
