Vacay ~ Day 10

Today we left Alabama and headed for home. We had a yummy breakfast that Papo made for us before we packed up and headed out.  We were in no rush...the girls wanted to feed the ducks one last time but the rain changed their plans.

It is always so hard to leave. As soon as we got in the car Ashton's tears started...I hate seeing her cry because she is gonna miss everyone and it also hard not knowing when the next visit will be.  She loves waving to Mamo, Papo and Uncle Todd until she can't see them anymore and they wave back til they can't see us anymore as we drive down their street.

Landry zonked out pretty quickly once we got in the car because I gave her some Dramamine to make sure we didn't have a repeat of our trip  to Alabama.  She took a good little nap until we stopped for lunch.  Ashton entertained herself with some reading, some coloring, some drawing, some DS playing, some MP3 music, and a movie.

I always try and find some knew things for the girls to do in the car to occupy them since we have a long drive home.  One of the new things we tried on this trip was a dry erase board with Crayola Washable Dry Erase Markers for each of the girls....it worked out great! Until I looked back to check on Landry and saw....

...that she had given herself her very own manicure and pedicure-with the dry erase markers!!! She was so proud of her painted nails that she did all by herself....this girl is a crack up!  Thank goodness those markers were washable and it all wiped off super easily!

Just as the rest of our trip is filled with traditions, our drive home is no different!  We always stop for lunch in Memphis and we always stop at Baker Brothers in Texarkana for dinner and we ALWAYS get a treat from Dairy Queen as our dessert.

As much as we love visiting Alabama, we LOVE Texas because that is our HOME! 

The trip home went smoothly...we were all so glad to be home so we could sleep in our own beds!  Our Annual Alabama Vacation of 2010 was a success!
