Day 9 is our last official day of vacation before we head back to Texas. Since we had a busy week, we decided to hang out at home and keep the girls out of the car as much as possible since they would spend all of tomorrow in the car.
We had planned on meeting Daddy's cousin and her family for lunch...but after some miscommunication that didn't work out.
So the girls just spent the afternoon playing outside in the backyard swimming. Daddy and Papo brought home Sonic Happy Hour drinks for everyone while we sat outside with the girls.
Landry snuggled up with Mamo-the-Great and her dog Oakley to do some reading...
Uncle Todd played 3D sidewalk chalk with Ashton...
Dinner...check. Baths....check. Landry in bed....check. Skip Bo with Ashton....check. Ashton in bed...check. Grown up cards time with , wine (Dr. Pepper for Uncle Todd), and snacks....check.
One of the things we love doing on vacation is playing cards. It is so fun to sit around the table and chat and LAUGH and just have fun. I swear some of the times I have laughed the hardest have been when we play cards. It is such a great way to relax and have fun at the end of each day.
We truly love the memories that are made every summer. The girls love having things to look forward to...they love having traditions especially since we are a traditions kind of family (I just love them since Bobby and I both also grew up with them). Everyone is always sad to see the week come to an end, but we always leave with great memories to last us until the next time we see them again.
We don't like that Mamo and Papo are so far away and we don't get to see them very often, but we sure do make the most of our time every summer when we go visit. They always go out of their way to make sure we have a good time and we always do.
