Day 8...Girls Day....holla!
Since the boys have had two days of golf, we decided that us girls (minus the wee one) needed some time out too. We had a day of fun full of girls stuff planned....pedicures, lunch, and shopping!
Ashton was so stinkin excited...she has only ever had "Mommy Pedicures" before so she was looking forward to having a real one in a "pedicure place". She might have been a little (okay maybe alot) excited to have an afternoon all to herself with Mamo, Mamo-the-Great, and Mommy.
Here is she is sporting the outfit she and Mamo picked out on our first outing of the vacation and SO ready to head out.
She was the first one of the four of us in a chair...and she was in awe of everything...the big chair, the back massager, the tub to soak your feet in, and the people. It was neat to watch her first experience.
Mamo was second in line to get in a chair and Ashton was pretty happy that Mamo sat right next to her.
Mamo-the-Great took over my camera while she was waiting for her chair....unfortunately I managed to go the entire day without a single picture of Mamo-the-Great. I am totally kicking myself for that!
Since Ashton was finished with her toes first, Mamo asked the lady to go ahead and give Ashton a manicure too. She was pretty excited to have both!
Mamo and Ashton wanted decorations on their toes so Mamo-the-Great and I decided we should get decorations to commemorate our first "Girls Day Pedicures".
After we finished with our pedicures we were starving so we headed to the mall for a little lunch followed by some shopping. Since one of the birthday gifts Ashton got from Daddy's parents was to go shopping to pick out an outfit, we took care of it while we were still in Alabama. Ashton LOVES to go shopping with Mamo.
She had an absolute ball choosing the store to shop in, choosing outfits to try on and then modeling them for us as she got them on. She was hilarious because she only wanted me to take pictures of the outfits she liked and not the ones she didn't like once she got them on.
Outfit #1....so cute and sassy just like her pose!
"Are you ready for the next outfit?"
Outfits #2 and #3...
She ended up choosing outfit #1 as her outfit from Mamo and Papo, I told her Mommy and Daddy would by her the pink shirt and polka dot skirt as her back to school outfit and she decided to use some of her birthday money from Mamo-the-Great to buy the pink peace shirt so she was one happy girl at the end of her shopping trip!
As you can see, she walked in there with a bunch of stuff to try on and she did so good choosing only the things she liked best...I was proud of her for narrowing down her choices and making a decision!
After our shopping trip, we ran a few more errands before we headed home. When we got home Landry had just woken up from her nap and she was pretty excited to tell us about her date with Daddy, Papo, and Uncle Todd. They went to Best Buy and "Chick-A-Lave" and she got to have an ice cream cone at Chick-A-Lave. She had a great time with the boys and didn't miss us at all! She did ask when she gets to go on Girls' Day with us.
This evening we went to one of our fave restaurants in H-ville which has become another thing we do every time we visit....Luciano's.
Before we left and since we were all dressed, I decided this might me a good time to try and get a quick family picture since we need one for Landry's school. This ended up being the perfect moment for lots of family photos...
As good as it gets with a two year old who wasn't in the mood unless she could wear the green 3D glasses.
A rare Mommy and Daddy picture...

After everyone was quite full from our delicious dinner we came home and headed out to the patio again. At first it was just to hang out and talk, but it turned out to be an evening full of sidewalk chalk, baseball, playing in an empty pool in only a diaper and all done with the girls in their jammies!
{All the pictures I took were super blurry}
The day ended with little girls all ready for bed and some grown ups ready to play some cards...
Lan-Lan P requested that Uncle Todd read her new book to her before she went to bed...how cute is this?
Today was a long day but one that we enjoyed immensely. Us girls decided that we need to make the pedicures and shopping a tradition just like the boys and their golf outings. We had such a great time and when Landry is 8 she will get to join us on the the Girls' Day Outing.
