Landry's Actual Birthday Day...

Our ONE year old birthday girl!!

******
(Warning: This is LONG since it is documentation for the blog book. Feel free to peruse the pictures!)

Today was Landry's actual birthday...we had a lot planned for her special day. Ashton was so excited to finally celebrate her baby sister's birthday. She asked me, "Does Landry know it is her birthday". When I told her that Landry had no idea, she thought that was a bit strange. I love how a six year old mind works.

So here is a re-cap of how her special day went...
When she woke up, we sang "Happy Birthday" to her and got Ashton off to school. Then we took her to have her one year pictures taken...they turned out AWESOME! We ran a few errands, came home, had lunch, and took a nap to get ready for the "BIG" afternoon we had planned for her....
Here are presents from Mommy and Daddy...
After Ashton got home from school, we let Landry open the presents from us and from Mamo & Papo since they weren't going to be at her party.
Here is the rocking chair I painted for Landry. I also painted one for Ashton when she turned one and Daddy wrote a special message on the bottom of both girls' chairs. Landry LOVES her chair~now she has one like her Big Sis!
One of her presents was a book that I made about her first year. { this picture is horrid, but I couldn't get one where the lamination wasn't causing a glare}
Ashton loved hers...and Landry's has become her new fave these days.
Landry is reading her "First Year" book just before bed. Each page tells something that she did in each month of her first year. This is the first page. It says, "I was born on January 7, 2008". She loves to point to us in the picture and "talks" all about it. She really loves the pictures of herself on every single page too!
Ashton was walking Landry into the playroom so she could open presents and Daddy and I could be ready with the cameras. Ashton did a fabulous job reading the cards to Landry and helping her open her presents!
She LOVED this Elmo that we got her. He laughs and laughs and bends over laughing hitting his leg when you tickle him.
Giving her Elmo a big hug...

Part 2: Headed to the mall...
After opening her presents, it was time to head to the mall for Ashton's present to Landry. She wanted to make Landry her first Build-A-Bear.

Ashton chose the.most.perfect.bear for her baby sis...she was getting the sound box so she could record a message to put inside of Landry's bear. When you press the paw, it says "Happy First Birthday Landry! Ashton loves you...bye bye."

Right before she was going to get the bear stuffed, she let Landry see which one she chose...Landry loved it and cried when Ashton took it so the lady could stuff it. Ashton kissed a heart and made a wish to put inside of the bear. The lady even let Landry kiss a heart to put inside. Then when the bear was soft and cuddly, Ashton gave it a bath and named it "P Pie" since that is one of the names she calls Landry.
Landry LOVES the bear her sissy made her...sweet hugs!
The sisters...Landry was more interested in why Ashton had the bear than taking a picture!

Next up...Landry's first ever ride on the carousel...
This little bitty thing couldn't have been happier! She smiled and laughed the entire time. She looked at the lights and the horses and got excited to see Daddy every time we came around! The best part was that we were the only ones on the carousel!
This isn't the greatest picture, but click the picture larger and just look at Landry's face. She was having a total blast!

Time For Dinner...
So after the carousel ride, it was time for dinner. Landry had one of her all time favorite meals from Chili's...pizza and french fries! Not so healthy, but a fave.
Then...she got to have a little bit of cookie as a special birthday treat. She had never had a "real" cookie before. As you can see...she loved it! But then again who doesn't love a mini rainbow sugar cookie?

Daddy's Birthday Flower...
After we got home and got jammies on, Daddy gave Mommy and Landry their flowers. When both girls were born and on every birthday, Daddy gives us flowers. Landry was supposed to get a pink tulip and mommy a white tulip, but this year Daddy couldn't find one anywhere so he chose a pink Daisy for her and a white one for momma. He always writes the sweetest cards to go with them...

Landry had a very busy birthday, but she did great. When we got home, lots of people called to wish her a Happy First Birthday. We put the phone on speaker so she could hear them talk/sing to her. She loved when people sang to her so much that she would cry when we turned the phone off.

We can't believe Landry Paige turned ONE! We enjoyed celebrating her day with her!
Next up...the birthday party and her 12 month post!
