Fishing…
Bobby and his brother, Todd, were up early and out on the dock fishing while the rest of us were sitting on the patio watching while still in our jammies. Then, after we got dressed, Ashton and Mamo-the-Great joined them. Landry was napping for the first part of fishing but was able to watch later on since we spent most of the day fishing.
Love this picture of them morning fishing...notice Ashton's jammies and pink water shoes!
Hanging out with Papo in while everyone is fishing!
Ashton likes to fish…but her idea of fishing is not the same as everyone else’s. She wants someone to put the bait on her hook (I don’t blame her) and she wants to hold it, but only for a few minutes. If for some reason she were to catch something in the few minutes she was holding it, she doesn’t want to pull it in….she gets the heck out of there!
Mamo-the-Great is an expert fisher. Ashton decided to fish with her after she was sure Mamo-the-Great would do all the “work” and help her if she caught something. She caught a fish but stepped away as soon as it was on her line…she wanted no part of bringing it in. She did think it was pretty neat after it was done. We had to really convince her to take a picture with the fish on the line…she didn’t want to be too close to her fish.

More Playing…
Once the sun came out, more playing in the lake took place. Landry and I took our places in the chairs on the dock. Landry did get to sit on the personal watercraft with Mamo and watch her sissy play in the lake with Papo.
Yummy Dinner…
Bobby and Todd made us a fabulous dinner which was yummy! They grilled filet mignon steaks, scallops, sweet potatoes, edamame, and rolls. Ashton loved the steak and even asked if she could try the scallops. We usually have to put new things on her plate and tell her she needs to try it and she is very good about trying new things. She knows she can’t say she doesn’t like something unless she has tried it. Surprisingly enough, she loved the scallops and ended up eating three! I was so impressed. In fact, on Monday when we got home and I asked what we should have for dinner she said, “we should have that meat we had at Mamo-the-Great’s house with those white things…what are they called again?”.
