We had a fun day celebrating her...and she was beyond excited that her birthday was on a school day...unfortunately, this momma didn't do a very good job of documenting her birthday at school. She was super excited to pick out napkins and donuts to take to school to share with her friends! {For a while at the beginning of the school year, she was convinced she was in the wrong class because everyone was turning five at the beginning of the year and she wasn't. So when her day to turn five came today, she was a happy camper!}
I wanted to snap one last picture of her as a four year old the night before her birthday, but as you can see...I had to settle for a picture of her monitor! Bless her heart, she was super excited and had a hard time falling asleep! Not to mention, we needed her to be asleep so we Daddy could get to work on her birthday present!
She wanted a Barbie jeep but we knew she would outgrow the Barbie part before the jeep part so we found this super cute pink and purple dune buggy racer...and once she saw it in the store, she forgot all about the jeep! We weren't sure how long it would take to put together...and with her not falling asleep when she was supposed to, Daddy had to work on it in the laundry room while I kept a lookout to make sure she didn't make her way downstairs and accidentally see her present early!
It didn't take too long...this was about half way through!
Behind this door with her birthday sign, was her Dune Buggy Racer waiting for her when she woke up!
Please excuse the random clothes...this is how she rolls! Even though she has clothes picked out for the day, she always has a random something that she chooses and puts it on for breakfast and to take Ashton to school. We just roll with it around here!
On her way to the laundry room for her big present...
Ta-Da! She LOVED it and looks so cute in it!
We had to have a quick birthday mini photo session so Mommy could put our Birthday Girl on Facebook and Instagram!
We picked up lunch from Chick Fil-A on our way home from school...and she could not wait to take her new little car for a test drive in the back yard. Of course she had to have her usual wardrobe change as soon as she walked in the door from school. Every single day she walks in the door and strips off her school clothes and puts on jammies and takes out her hair...every.single.day!
{There is a little compartment in the front to store things...she put her important things in there. You know...her blankie, keys, and phone.}
She looks ready to go...
...and off she went!
It was perfect for the backyard. It rides in the grass really well (dead grass too) and she had plenty of room to drive all over the yard!
{It didn't take long for her to figure out reverse}
Landry was dying for Ashton to get home from school...she wanted to take Ashton for a ride!
After the driving fun in the backyard, the only way we could get her to come in was to open her presents.
{You'll notice more random clothes. She had to put on different clothes after her nap}
The traditional flower picture with Daddy...I love this tradition that BB started the day the girls were born!
We went out for an early birthday dinner to the place of the Birthday Girl's choice...we just knew she would choose Uncle Julio's but she changed it ip a teeny bit on us this year. She chose Christina's instead...still yummy Mexican and a lot closer. Good thing too because we wanted to watch Alabama in the National Championship game.
Our Birthday Girl chose chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and sprinkles!
Ashton was our photographer for the cupcakes and candles since Daddy was manning the video camera and Mommy was in charge of the candles. She got some awesome pictures...I was impressed!
We loved celebrating our Littlest Girl today. She is so excited to be FIVE and we can't believe it! She is spunky, funny, dramatic, determined, sweet, snuggly, caring, and we love her to pieces!
HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY LANDRY PAIGE!!
