Visiting With Santa

The time is here again for our annual visit to see the Big Guy...aka Santa Claus!

This evening, Auntie Megan and the boys came up to see Santa with us and spend the night. We have done Santa this way for a few years now and I love that Megan brings her boys for this new tradition. We LOVE our Santa and we love that we have been to see him since Ashton was two. I am however, a little sad that they don't allow cameras inside the bookstore where Santa hangs out. Since I couldn't take my own (and we always buy one anyway), here is our "official" annual picture with Santa...

{Ashton :: 10  Landry :: 4.5}

Unfortunately, Ashton had a really hard time deciding what she wanted to ask Santa for this year. She wanted a phone and knew that Santa pretty much always brings what you ask for....she is a sly little thing. We had several conversations with her (even minutes before she went to sit on his lap) that Santa doesn't bring presents that parents don't approve of such as phones and puppies. We also told her that she was more than welcome to ask for a phone. But we also told her that it  was probably all she was going to get...the phone itself-not connected and not working. Santa doesn't pay the monthly bill for a phone and he doesn't get it all set up with a number and all the things she didn't think of. It was quite interesting to say the least. She decided she would ask for a new Ipod Touch...even though that wasn't really what she wanted. The life of a 5th grader...when pretty much all of your friends in 5th grade have phones...it is tough! And, poor Ashton has the mean parents who don't think she needs one yet.

Landry on the other hand...was all gung ho and ready to chat with Santa. She could not wait to ask for a scooter with light up wheels.

After everyone finished visiting with Santa, we took some pictures of the kiddos outside with all the pretty decorations. Once everyone was done taking pictures, we wandered down to Twisted Root for some dinner. Auntie Heather and Brodie met us and hung out...I am pretty sure they were wishing they had other dinner plans after Landry had an all out meltdown! This was a doozy. I ended up having to sit with  her in the car until she calmed herself down. It was definitley one for the record books!

It isn't easy trying to get all four kiddos to look at the camera. Ashton and Parker have it down, but Landry and Chase (both of them being second children) could use a little more work. In their defense, there were a bunch of grown ups with cameras and phones pointed at them saying "Look at the camera". The pictures make me giggle!

{We realized this was the best we were gonna get and that the kids were gonna quit cooperating at any second...they are still stinkin' cute!}
Our two girls with the next back drop!
{Excuse the blurry pic...the camera wanted to focus on the lights rather than the people}
This last picture with Auntie Heather, Brodie and all the kids makes me laugh!!

Santa Visit 2012 is in the books. I hope next year goes a little more smoothly with my two girls! It was a production and definitely a memory! I love making memories...good or bad...they are still memories!!
