Red Ribbon Week-5th Grade Edition

It's October which means it's time for National Red Ribbon Week. As I have said before, this is one of my favorite lessons and campaigns done in the schools. It has such a great message that will hopefully stick with the kids all the way through their school years.

Ashton always gets excited about this week and also about the fun themed days and activities that the school plannned for them to participate in.

I can't seem to go through one of these entire weeks where I get a picture for every single day. I guess 4 out of 5 isn't terrible. I also decided that since the lighting is awful in the morning, I would wait and take the pictures of our girl in the afternoon when she got home. I love the way they turned out even though she is is a little washed out in some!

Monday :: I'm a "Jean"ius--I'm Drug Free

Tuesday :: Warm Up to A Drug Free Life
This was the day where I dropped the ball and didn't get a picture.

Wednesday :: National Wear Red Day

Thursday :: Team Up Against Drugs

{Is anyone surprised that Landry had to wear her Baylor shirt to match Ashton? And she had to pose and have her picture taken too. I didn't think so.}
I asked them to take one together since they were matching. This was the pose they gave me.

Friday :: I'm Voting For My Future--I'm Drug Free
{She didn't wear red, white or blue like they were supposed to, but she did say that softball was her future so she was supporting that by wearing her Twist sweatshirt. Whatever works.}

This week was full of fun activities like getting their RRW bracelets, learning about a DEA Officer from California who gave his life in the fight against drugs, they pledged to be drug free and signed a giant banner that is hung in their school just to name a few. The counselor also taught her guidance lessons focusing on making good and healthy choices.

This was her last Red Ribbon Week as an elementary student. I am excited to see what RRW is like at the middle school level next year.
