Bama Vacay :: Day 5

Today we went to the Arboretum to see this year's exhibit...
We arrived as soon as they opened and it wasn't terribly hot or crowded so that was a bonus!

There were so many butterflies that were decorated and painted in all kinds of various themes!

At one point while we were in the butterfly garden, the girls wanted to try and have a butterfly land on their hands. They put the nectar on their fingers like they are supposed to and they waited, and they waited. Landry decided waiting wasn't the best way to get a butterfly...apparently grabbing it by the wings was the best way. We looked over and were shocked to find her holding a beautiful white butterfly by the wings.  That poor thing was fluttering trying to get out of her grasp!

Seriously...between grabbing the goose last night and snatching the butterfly today, what in the world are we going to do with this spunky, fearless little girl?!

Finally...something she was encouraged to touch! Within the butterfly garden, there was a display of turtles with a sign saying the kids could touch the turtles on their shells.

The best part of the day was the SEE-SAW! Neither of my girls have ever been on a see-saw before! It was so cool to watch them.  It is really kind of awful that Ashton is ten years old and has never been on a see-saw before (and if she has, none of us remember it)!

I took a picture of every butterfly display we came across...there were some neat ones!

These are tree trunks and branches that look like spindles...so cool!

Once we got home, we were all HOT and hungry. We grabbed some lunch, rested for a bit, then we hit the backyard to cool off in the pool!!

We are having such a fabulous time....we have had two very tired little girls at the end of every day so far!
