Bama Vacay :: Day 1

And we're off! We woke up bright and early, loaded the car and were off at exactly the time we had planned!!

Everyone was very excited about the road trip to Alabama!

I am not sure how we ever survived traveling as kids without all the fun gadgets that are out today. We all had our electronics and some fun other goodies to keep us entertained. And we had the most important necessity of all...Dramamine for Landry!

Bobby has a contraption called a "Wireless Hot Spot" that came in quite handy. This handy dandy gadget allows him to get wireless anywhere he is which is especially useful for work. We brought it along on the trip so we could use our devices in the car.  It worked perfectly...I only wish I would have taken a picture!

I watched an episode of the Bachelorette on the laptop, Bobby was able to use it to listen to Mike & Mike in the Morning on ESPN, Landry was able to watch a few episodes of Doc McStuffins on the Disney Jr App for the Ipad and PBS Kids, and Ashton was able to check her email on her Kindle.

Daddy had a work call at noon so we stopped for lunch somewhere in Arkansas...where the only place to eat was McDonalds--while we like it for breakfast, not so much for lunch. The girls and I went inside to eat while Daddy stayed in the car to take his call in silence.  While we waited, I wanted a cute little picture of the girls and this is what I got. My oldest daughter totally smiled for me, while my youngest was being herself and did her own thing for the picture.

Our arrival time in Huntsville could not have been more perfect! Papo was home from work and had enough time to change his clothes before coming outside to wait for us to pull up. Mamo got home from work a short time later.

We had Papo's Father's Day presents with us and the girls absolutely could not wait to give them to him. So after all the hugs and kisses, we let Papo bust open his gifts.

Papo loved his replacement plate {He had one that we made him when Ashton was three, but it accidentally got broken.} which included both girls' handprints and his special edition Taylor Made Veterans golf hat.

This picture warms my heart...Ashton was helping Mamo get the spaghetti ready for dinner!

Day one of our vacay was easy and very successful! We made it to Alabama with an easy ride in the car!
