I love when the girls try new things. That is one of the things that as parents, we have tried to teach them is to at least try something before you say you don't like or don't want to do it.
The Gees had us over for their annual craw fish boil...we had such a fiun time and the girls tried a few new things too, which is always a bonus. The evening began in the driveway...with the LIVE craw fish!
The Big Girls did a lot of observing and investigating...
Daddy picked one up and showed the girls it could be done....and with a little convincing, each of the girls took a turn holding the LIVE craw fish!!
Then it was time for a craw fish race. I love that Kaitlyn drew a race track for them! This was definitely a first for our girls.
After we were finished "playing" with our food, Mr. Duane cooked them while the kiddos had a ball playing in the backyard.
The part that shocked me the most was that the girls each tasted the craw fish, and that Ashton actually ate it and quite a bit of it! I was a little bit in shock! I knew she would taste it, but I didn't know she would actually like it.

well doesn't that look like fun! the race is my fave part! i bet the girls just loved that.
and i'm shocked that ash liked them {mostly because that sounds totally DIS-GUS-TING to me}! but good for her for trying them! :)
I am not at all surprise that LP held a craw fish but Ashton shocks me a little. I'm afraid to say..I probably wouldn't have wanted to hold one:) Looks like fun!
