After we finished our pix in the bluebonnets, we dashed over to our Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Since this was our first one, we didn't know what to expect. Other than it being pretty hot, we had a great time. We saw a bunch of our neighbors and the girls had fun with the games and activities.
Landry is a little obsessed with hula hoops and it made her day that they had a hula hoop station set up. Since she couldn't play in the bounce house, the hula hoops were the next best thing!
The Spoon Race was another fun first for LP. She thought she was hot stuff since she raced a "Big Kid".
My girls took a snack break in the shade and posed for a picture. I love how they humor me!
When you have two kids, it's always so fun to see how differently they react to certain things. Let's take the Easter Bunny for an example. Ashton would never in a million years have stood in front of the Easter Bunny much less let it touch her. Landry, well she could not get there fast enough and she loved the hug and hi-5!
The actual hunt was a bit of a debockle. They didn't have it planned very well--they tried to have each age group go at separate times but no one really knew that. It ended up working out fine and they each got a basket full of eggs and were thrilled.
We ended with a Hula Hoop Contest. Landry can't hula hoop to save her life, but she didn't care, she wanted to get out there and give it a try. I loved it!
After Ashton finished her part of the contest, we bailed because we were hungry and hot! It was a fun afternoon and we are looking forward to the next neighborhood event!
