Tonight we had Ashton's Annual Open House at her school. We were super excited to see all the spectacular things she has been doing and she was pretty pumped to show off Fourth Grade at Pink!
Daddy was out of town for work and wasn't supposed to be home until after Open House. Lucky for us he was able to get on an earlier flight, so he rolled up just in time to join the fun. To say everyone was happy about that was a HUGE understatement!
When we arrived at our Big Girl's desk, we were greeted with a photo slide show on the big screen, a nice neat pile of work, and a Scavenger Hunt. We carefully completed each and every task--all while enjoying the commentary from our favorite 4th Grader!
I was too busy hanging on Ashton's every word and fighting my way through the bazillion people who attended Open House to get very many pictures. I did manage to get a few...
One of the things displayed on the wall in A's classroom was a precious "Guess Who" game. The kids drew pictures of themselves and us parents were supposed to figure out which kiddo was ours. Lucky for us, Daddy and I both picked out our girl on the first try!
I absolutely adore this drawing!
My other favorite thing was this pre-writing web about her hero...and that hero is her Daddy!
I am pretty sure I wasn't the only one with a huge lump in my throat, a smile on my face and tears in my eyes as I read it.
Another one of my faves was this piece she wrote for her Practice Writing STARR test. The prompt was to write about a favorite place to visit--she wrote about her Great Grandad Bott's house and memories she has of him there. This is definitely a piece of writing we will cherish!
We took a walk through the library and browsed the display of Bio Bottles. We loved seeing her Brittney Griner again and I also had to snap a picture of RG3! I love how Baylor was represented at Pink!!
On the way out, I wanted to get a picture of the girls and Daddy....it turned out incredibly blurry, but I wanted to include it for documentation purposes!
We are so proud of the hard work Ashton put into Open House. I will never get tired of seeing the pride on her face as she escorts us around her school. It hit me that we only have one more Open House with Ashton Raley as an elementary student! How is that possible?! I am going to put that bit of info waaaaay far back in my mind and just enjoy this one!
