We have never ever taken a true Spring Break Vacation...until this year!! Last year, The Gees and The Wrights went to the beach for Spring Break and they invited us to go along. We passed for a plethora of reasons; like our house was on the market and we just knew that we would have to close and be out over Spring Break, we had a toddler who was going to get a visit from the Bink Fairy, etc.
Well, several months ago they began planning their second Spring Break Trip to the beach in which they invited us to come along. We jumped at the opportunity...our girls have never been to the beach other than our quick 30 minute trip last Memorial Day.
So last Friday, we loaded up and headed east...on our way to Perdido Key, Florida!
The girls were great little travelers! They entertained themselves with their bag of goodies, and the DVD player is always a plus especially since they only get to watch movies on special trips!
Our first stop on our way to the Millers house in Louisiana was to a yummy restaurant called Prejeans in Lafayette. We thought it was pretty neat to see a giant gator hanging from the ceiling. {Daddy is WAY into gators right now...Swamp People is one of his fave shows and he would totally love to go Gator Hunting!} There were also aquariums everywhere and a live band was playing. It was too cool.
The food was AH-MAZING! The best part of my night was when BOTH girls tasted gator! Yep...I was one super impressed Momma! One kiddo loved it and the other....not so much! Any guesses on which was which? Ashton LOVED it and Landry decided she could do without ever having gator again! Nonetheless, I am so proud of them for tasting it in the first place!
After our dinner, we loaded back up into the car and tackled the last few hours of our drive to the Millers house where we were spending the night. We arrived at Casa de Miller around 8:45...just in time to watch the end of the Baylor Bear Basketball game! It was so awesome being amongst other Baylor Bear Alumni!
Day One was a complete success!
