We took a little road trip down to Bastrop for the weekend. The Olsons have been up to our neck of the woods to visit us several times in the last couple of months, and with our weekends about to get busy again with softball, we decided we should take a trip down to visit while we could.
We left on Friday after Ashton (and Daddy) finished school. We stopped in Lorena to have some din-din with Grampy (Grammy was working and couldn't meet us), Auntie Megan, Uncle Ricci, Parker and Chase.
Unfortunately, I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures while we were there. Actually, I only took pictures once the entire time and they were on my phone so they aren't that great!
We woke up on Saturday morning and Aunt Kynda made blueberry muffins for the kiddos while Daddy and Uncle Chris went and got the grown folks the most yummy breakfast burritos EVER! Then we got all cleaned up and headed into the Big City for some kiddy fun!
Uncle Chris had taken Bailey to this place called Jumpstreet over Christmas Break and he absolutely loved it. To say that the girls loved it is a huge understatement! They had a total blast for the hour and a half we were there. You know they were having fun when they played right through lunch and never once stopped to say they were hungry.
Jumpstreet is a huge indoor trampoline park. They have an area designated for kids under seven which is where B-Dub and Lan-Lan P spent a majority of their time. They also have several areas for the older kids. They had a HUGE foam pit where the kids could swing like monkeys on a rope and land in the big ol' foam blocks. In addition to that, they have a mechanical bull, a tube slide, and a dodge ball court. I am pretty certain Bobby and Chris would have LOVED to have been able to dodge ball each other in the dodge ball court!
We tried to get a few pix of the kids before they darted off into the fun, but as you can see it wasn't that easy.
Landry LOVES to jump, so this place was right up her alley {she would love to have a giant trampoline in our house if we'd let her}!
This alligator is perched above the slide and makes a tunnel of sorts. Both Bailey and Landry repeatedly went up and down this slide and couldn't get enough. The gator didn't phase them one bit!
Ashton spent a good portion of her time on this tube slide. To be honest, I wish I could've gone on it too!
Then, our not normally daring big girl decided to take a ride on the bull. She hopped up there like she had done it before. She didn't do too bad...I was impressed!
These two munchkins took a break from the jumping and sliding to ride on these musical teacups. I think they rode them about 3 times before they went back for a little more jumping and sliding.
After we left Jumpstreet, we were all starving so we decided to have lunch at a place called the Hula Hut on Lake Travis. It was delsih and hit the spot!
Landry conked out on the way back to the 'Strop and was ready for some more playing when we got to Casa de Olson. We had a low key evening with snacks for dinner. The kids watched a movie and hit the hay. After the kids were asleep which took about 5.2 seconds, us grown ups had us a little game night. Kynda and Chris taught us how to play a dice game called Farkle. Chris won both times, but we had a blast hanging out like old times laughing and chatting.
We woke up Sunday morning and had to have breakfast at Maxine's On The Square before we headed back up north. That place has some out of this world food! The pancakes are ginormous and soooo good!
While we were waiting for our table, Daddy and Uncle Chris took the kids to walk around. They texted this picture to me and Kynda--how precious is this?
Our trip was short and went by way too fast, but we did have a fantastic time. The girls loved the whoop-de-wooos in the car when we would go up and down the hills in their neighborhood, we saw some of the devastation and rebuilding from the fires that happened a few months ago. We definitely made some memories and can't wait for the next time we get to see our Olsons!!
