Somebody in our house got reading glasses today and it wasn't me!
Ashton had been complaining of headaches for a few weeks. They would start while she was at school after lunch and they would continue until about dinner time which was after she was finished with her homework. Then miraculously, the headaches stopped over Thanksgiving break while she was out of school.
We thought it was probably time for her to have her eyes checked out by an eye doctor since she has only ever done the vision screenings. We also thought it was a good idea because I had to wear glasses for reading when I was in second grade but after a year, my vision corrected and I didn't need them anymore {and luckily--knock on wood--I still don't need glasses of any kind}.
Today was Ashton's appointment. The doctor told her she had a slight need for glasses while she is reading and this was common. Some kids grow out of needing them, and sometimes they don't.
After we finished her appointment, she perused the available choices for her new glasses. I let her decide since she would be the one wearing them. The first pair she picked up were turquoise (her favorite color). She loved them, but tried on a few more that were a little more subtle. She kept coming back to the brown ones she ended up choosing. She LOVES them and I think she looks absolutely adorable in them!
We had to wait about 20 minutes for her glasses to be done which was perfect timing since we had to go pick up LP from school. As soon as we got in the car, I snapped a picture to text to Daddy...
We take her back in a year to have her eyes checked again!
Until then....I am loving the way she looks in these glasses.
