Today was one of the best days of Landry's entire school career...she thought she was cooler than cool to have her Big Sisser as the Reading Relative for the day! Ashton hadn't been back to Apple Creek in a long time and Miss Karen (the director) has been saying how she thought it would be great for Ashton to come read. I just have never really wanted to pull Ashton out of school for the 15 minutes it would take to read so we haven't ever done it.
But....since we were at the eye doctor which is literally across the street, we made sure Ashton was able to read to Landry's class.
Last night the girls sat down and very carefully chose a book for Ashton to read. They ended up choosing Penguin's Big Surprise (a cute story of how penguin gets a new little sister).
Ashton felt like a super star when she walked in and was greeted by Miss Karen. One of the cool parts for Ashton was signing in and getting a visitor badge. Then we made our way into Landry's classroom where once again, Ashton was in the spotlight! She was greeted with the most giant hug from her Lil Sisser. It was precious and melted my heart...I seriously love their sister relationship!
Landry had to squeeze in another hug before Ashton started reading Mama Llama Red Pajama!
Landry's classmates and teachers loved having Ashton read. Ashton really enjoyed being in Landry's element for a change and being able to enjoy one of the perks that comes with being a big sister!
Miss Karen was able to peek in and eavesdrop on Ashton reading to the three year olds. She raved about our BG's reading and how much she loved seeing Ashton again, which totally made ARB's day. It was such a neat experience for both girls and I am so glad we took advantage it!
