Our busy October continued. We were getting down the wire and we still hadn't taken BOTH girls to the pumpkin patch to choose their pumpkins for carving. Our tradition is to go with the Leonards and Scheers. The kids choose their pumpkins, they pose for a few pictures and then we head back to someone's house for pizza and pumpkin carving. Well, we had to modify our tradition ever so slightly this year. No matter how hard Miss Jodi, Miss Gina and I tried, we just couldn't fit it in. It ended up that we had to go on a school night and two of the Scheers were sick or GT had a soccer game (I can't remember)!
Since we were down the wire, after Landry finished with dance, we changed her clothes and headed to the pumpkin patch to meet up with Daddy and the Leonards. This year was not actually at a patch, it was more like a spot. This was also the same "spot" we had to come to a couple of years ago....only this time it was a beautiful sunny afternoon not a torrential downpour and muddy mess! The girls didn't care, they were just happy to pick pumpkins!
Landry immediately found this unusual looking gourd thing, that she insisted she take home with her.
These two were off in their own world doing their own thing and loving every second of it!
And these two minis, had a good ole time of their own dancing and wandering through the pumpkins.
I love this picture of the two littlest girls!
And I love this one of the "Bigs"
One of the exciting parts of this pumpkin patch was the fuzzy animals!
Please excuse the lady in the background and focus on the four little cuties admiring the fuzzy friends in the hay bales.
Just like last time, the owner of the pumpkin spot had his gentle and lazy dog enjoying the people.
The girls loved that they were able to actually touch and pet the bunnies and ducks.
The wind was a bit out of control, but the girls managed to sit still long enough for some Sisser Pix.
Poor Miss Jodi stepped in a pile of ants while taking our family picture (while wearing flip flops)!
The girls made excellent choices (LP's on the left and A's on the right) that will be perfect jack-o-lanterns after the carving takes place.
We thought the yard art made some pretty cute pictures with the girls posing behind them!
On our way to the cars, we stopped for one last picture....hopefully next year we can get to an actual pumpkin patch with everyone!!
We ended our modified yearly tradition with some yummy dinner at Corner Bakery. I am sure the girls would have enjoyed our traditional pizza and pumpkin carving more, but they had a blast sitting at the "kid table" so I think that kind of made up for it!
