...Day Eight...
This was the day the girls thought that I had completely lost my marbles. They had to check and make sure they had the same mommy they came with!
Here's the scoop...Daddy and Papo had gone to the grocery store the night before to get some milk and some other things. Well, the milk ended up being bad. Since there was no milk, it made breakfast a little difficult. Papo was ready to drive the 20 minutes it would take to get to the store for more milk. I was trying to discourage it--I figured we could make due. That's when I decided to let the girls have chocolate cake for breakfast! Yes, you read that right....the girls were offered chocolate cake for breakfast!!
They thought I was joking...they kept asking if I was serious. Then Daddy also couldn't believe what I was offering. They ate they their cake and enjoyed every single second of it. I figured it was vacation and you are supposed to do fun and out of the ordinary things on vacation...right?!
{I was so bummed this picture of the girls eating their chocolate cake for breakfast didn't turn out better.}
After breakfast, the girls got to feed the duck down on the dock.
Only one duck {and some huge fish} came to eat the food...but the girls still loved it and so did that lone duck!
Mamo-the-Great made homemade bread {and she taught me how to do it too} with the help of some super cute three year old hands before we headed out to the lake.
Let day two of the lake fun begin...
Daddy did a headstand flip off the tube which Landry thought was pretty cool. I am just glad our fearless second child didn't follow with her usual "Monkey See, Monkey Do" pattern.
Ashton worked some more on her diving skills. This time she did it off the dock and with Daddy watching! She became quite the little diver even diving off the landing on the back of the boat!
After the fun was over and it was time for lunch and a nap, Landry got all "toweled up" before she went in.
We took turns riding on the tube. Landry LOVED the tube. She talked and talked the entire time she was on there...the girl has no fear! Lord help us!
This girl is a boat girl just like her sisser...she had a blast and this summer she wasn't trying to fight with her life jacket to get it off! That was a bonus.
I {heart} those freckles on that sweet 9 year old of mine!!
