7.6.11 = 9

I can't believe that yesterday we celebrated our oldest little girl's NINTH birthday. Really?! How in the world is Ashton NINE....how is that I am a parent of a nine year old...a 4th grader!! Wowzer.

It was a perfect day and she loved every second. It was day a jam packed from start to finish! We started the morning with an early trip to Dunkin Donuts with Daddy for breakfast. Our Birthday Girl was not happy that Daddy had to go into the office and actually work on her birthday. {Since her bday is in the summer she doesn't have to go to school so why should Daddy have to work?!}

Before we left for breakfast, we let her open one of her presents....she was so excited to find the silver sparkly sandals she wanted in that bag!  She of course put them on immediately to accompany her outfit.
She looks so stinkin' BIG walking hand in hand with her Daddy!!
Lil Sis of course needed to have her picture taken too...you know,  because Big Sis did. That's how she rolls these days!

After our birthday breakfast, we went and picked up Brodie and he spent the rest of the day with us. We headed to the airport to pick up my Aunt Sara since she was flying in from California to spend some time with Ninny in Waco. Once we got our precious cargo from the airport, we drove on down to Italy so we could deliver Aunt Sara to Grammy and Ninny. After we visited and had some lunch it was time to head back home for some more birthday celebrating.

When we got home,  Daddy was waiting with the traditional birthday roses for me and Ashton...
We let the Birthday Girl open her presents...
...she enjoys the cards just as much as the presents!
She got some clothes from Mommy and Daddy. Landry gave her two outfits for her American Girl dolls.  Then we saved the best for last...
 She opened this one and said, "I know what the present Mamo and Papo got me but couldn't mail...it is the bike to go with my helmet!" Ummmmm...not exactly. Hilarious that she thought we would give her a helmet but no bike. We told her we had one more present, but that it was in Daddy's closet. She took off running and didn't wait for me to catch up so I missed the look on her face. By the time I got in there, she was already trying to figure out how to get the bike out of the closet!
She did at least pose for me since I missed the big reveal!

She was in love with her bike and couldn't wait to get on it!
After the present festivities, it was time to head on over to La Hacienda for a birthday dinner with her peeps.
All through dinner she kept saying how she did not want anyone to sing to her. Mr. Andrew told our waitress it was her birthday and they hooked her up with some ice cream and singing. In the end, she loved all the attention.

After dinner we hung out on the"front porch"  for a while to chat. The kids had fun playing on the horses and Brodie and Miss Jodi took some pictures. It was the perfect way to celebrate her birthday!
While the kiddos were playing, the guys were playing on there phones. This is the scene now days with these guys. They are too cool to talk...they just talk via their phones.
Happy 9th Birthday Ashton Raley!!
We love you bunches kiddo!
