Field Day 2011

Yesterday was Ashton's Field Day 2011...her last one at Carroll. She wrapped up her 4th Field Day with a bang! She had such a great time. The activities were awesome, well planned, and most importantly FUN!

Landry and I were able to come watch for a bit. Last year Landry was securely fastened in her stroller so it was easier for me to tag along with Ashton's class and stay out of the way. This year however, Landry was too cool for her stroller and she wanted to be where Sisser was so that put a limit on how long we could stay.  We made if for about an hour and a half.  I only got a few pictures because I was having so much fun watching my Big Girl and cheering her on and keeping Lil Sis out of the way.

Her class' first activity was at 8:30 am and it was the water station. This is such a genius idea:  instead of using (and filling) a gazillion water balloons that may or may not pop and make a giant mess, the PE teacher decided to use the SUPER SOAKER BALLS. The kids had the BEST time dunking the balls in the tubs of water and hurling them at each other--class vs class style!  One of the high school senior volunteers was there and he may have dumped buckets of water on the kids since he was in charge of the hose and filling the big tubs. It was hilarious listening to all the squeals, yells, and laughs that came from this activity!

Landry sat so well and watched the big kids...she wanted to participate SO BADLY!!

Finally Sisser was finished for a bit so when she came to get her towel Landry got her hug which made her happy once again.

After the water station, and the kids were cold and soaked, they headed into the gym for some jump roping and hula hooping games. We took a quick peek but since it was crowded, Landry and I walked around to check out the other stations and we tried to find Landry's buddy Coleson.

From the gym we moved into the cafeteria for some relay races.

Landry was able to get a quick picture with Ashton and her friends before we left!

We left after that station but once Ashton got home she gave us every detail about the parts of Field Day we missed.  She had an incredible day, and the weather could not have been more perfect! I am so glad that Ashton still likes having me there to watch her and cheer her on. I enjoyed my time watching my Big Girl do her thing with her friends!
