St. Patty's Day 2011

St. Patrick's Day 2011 was pretty uneventful in the Bryce House this year. 

I dragged the girls to the gym with me this morning, then I ran the girls to Sam Moon to get some sparkly headbands, then we stopped by Subway to get some lunch to take home. 

After Mommy got a shower and put on my green and a certain little girl took her nap, we tried to make a Jamba Juice smoothie.  I bought this frozen Jamba smoothie mix because I had a coupon. I used the word "tried" eariler  because our blender somehow got jacked in the move and wouldn't work. The girls  were bummed and to be honest so was I. I knew the smoothie wouldn't be as good as a "real" Jamba Juice, but I was hoping it would be decent enough. We'll have to try again when Daddy has a chance to look at and hopefully fix the blender. 

Landry was so concerned about the blender not working. She really wanted a "groovy smoothie"  just like they have on the Fresh Beat Band (her favorite show). She stood in the kitchen and said, "Mommy, I fink Daddy used up all the battewies wis his shakes and dat's why we can't have a "gwoovy smoovie".

After the smoothies didn't work out, we headed out for a little St. Patty's Day photo shoot.  I had the most difficult time finding green shirts for the girls this year. I like for them to match or at least coordinate and this was the best I could do.

{I didn't want Landry's hair in a headband, but she is in love with headbands these days since her Big Sis wears them. This was not a battle I was willing to fight. I decided to save the battle for the pictures instead!}

This was my absolute FAVE picture of the day.....I love this...I am pretty sure it will be my March picture on the calendar next year!

We rented a couple of movies from Red Box for the first time ever. Then we went to Target to get something to make for dinner since Daddy was at a dinner meeting for work before we headed home.

A  little side note about Ashton becoming more and more  aware of the world around her. I had stopped to get gas and she noticed the sign said $3.33.  Here is the convo that followed:

Ashton: "Oh, so gas only costs $3.33. That's pretty good, right?"

Mommy:  "Well, babe that means it is $3.33 a gallon and Mommy's car takes approximately 20 gallons."

Ashton:  "So how much is that?"

Mommy: "See if you can figure it out. Take the number of gallons and multiply it by how much it costs per gallon. So what's 20x3?

Ashton: "60?"

Mommy: "Yep....that is right! It's actually more than that because it isn't exactly $3 a gallon."

Ashton: "IT COSTS MORE THAN $60 TO FILL UP YOUR CAR WITH GAS?!?! REALLY, $60?! Well that is just STUPID and CRAZY!"

When I got back in the car after filling  up my car, she was still going on and on about how much gas costs. We talked about it for the next 30 minutes. She is growing up before my eyes.

And this little hot mess right  here...well she made this hat at the Kids Club at the gym this morning and wanted me to take a picture of her  in her  hat. What a hoot!

After dinner, we made some yummy cookies complete with lucky green sprinkles followed by manis and pedis!
