Dallas Blooms

On a whim last Sunday morning we decided to head out to the Dallas Arboretum to end our Spring Break.  The last time we were there, Landry was 4 months old and Ashton was in Kindergarten!  We literally got up, had breakfast and headed out of the house at around 9 am.  We went  by and looked at the progress on the house, then Daddy decided to take the girls by to show them where his office was.  They have always wondered and since we were not far, he decided to drive by so they could have a visual.

Since this year has been "non-traditional" we kept up that trend {not on purpose and not by choice} by not making the trip to the Dallas Arboretum with the Leonards. We always go with them, and sadly this year we had to go solo. We knew Mr. Bill has been working on Sundays so we figured they wouldn't be able to go and Saturdays are an absolute no go since all the kids have activities.

It wasn't as much fun as when we go with the Leonards and I am pretty sure I would have gotten better pictures if I had had Miss Jodi and her fam to help me out!  Turns out Mr. Bill only had to work half a day on Sunday, but we wouldn't have made it anyway since we still have a little one who  needs a nap and by the time that was over, we wouldn't have had enough time to head out there and make it worth the trip. We will for sure be keeping with our tradition next time....the Leonards and Bryces (and hopefully Scheers) will all go together.

Any who, Dallas Blooms is so pretty....there are a ton of spring flowers all over the place and this year there were a ton of people all over too! We pulled up and the parking lot was full....so we had to go to the overflow parking and ride a bus. The girls thought that was quite fun! As we were walking in, we found out that the Dallas Arboretum had a record day with 11,000 people in attendance on Saturday.  Needless to say it was rather difficult to get pictures without people in the background...I have never seen so many people there ever!

The first thing the girls did was take off running on the plush green grass!  Landry tried her best to keep up with her Big Sis!

Landry did amazingly well {we of course motivated both of the girls with an icee if they were cooperative}

UNTIL...
...we got to this point.
She decided to listen to what Daddy had to say...
...and busted out this smile amidst the tears.
{not sure why Ashton decided sticking her tongue into the holes in her mouth would be a good idea}
{but this was much better}

ARB decided this would be a good shot...with them in the flowers and surrounded...so we went with it!

A few more tears from Landry, a hug from her sis and she was ready to smile again.

All of a sudden, Ashton decided Mommy and Daddy needed to be in front of the camera {which Mommy hadn't planned on = no make up and hair not really done so my sunglasses stayed on}!

Ashton took this picture of Mommy and Daddy Bryce for us.

And some sweet lady jumped in and insisted that we take a family pic...we only had her take one, so this aint too bad {again, it would have turned out waaaaaay better with Miss Jodi behind the camera)

There was also some  Fairy Tale Festival going on and the girls were tickled to have their picture taken with a version of Ariel.

Pictures in front of the waterfall....before we headed out

As you can see, the tulips were already blooming.
(I was hoping to get pix in front of them before they bloomed. but I guess we waited a bit too long to head out there)

We weren't there very long...it was getting close to lunch time and it started getting more and more crowded, plus we knew LP  was about at the end of her rope.  Hopefully next year we can plan a little better since we saw what happened when we try to be spontaneous!
