As a fun way to kick of 2011 I took my Big Girl on a date. We were both really excited because we went to see the newest Disney movie about Rapunzel called "Tangled". The movie was FAN-tastic....like the best Disney movie ever!
We have a new movie theater that opened on December 17 and it is super close to our house. Ashton has been dying to see this movie and she was dying to check out the new theater so we made it a date. We had an super fun bonus....the movie was only playing in 3D and neither one of had ever seen a 3D movie at the theater before so that just added to our excitement.
We had to keep it on the down-low since Lil Sis isn't quite ready for movies at the theater just yet and she would have been heartbroken to know that we had gone without her. Luckily it wall worked out that we went while she was taking her nap and she didn't know she missed anything. We brought her a slushy when we came home and that was all she cared about so where we went was far from her little mind.
Such an awesome movie and I highly recommend going to see it ASAP!
This girl was keeping herself together but she was squealing on the inside...she was so excited to see the movie, to see a 3D movie for the first time with the cool 3D glasses and she got to have popcorn and an icee for her lunch! It just doesn't get better than that for an 8 year old.

I loved experiencing this "first" with Ashton. She was so giddy about wearing the glasses. She wanted to make sure didn't "miss" anything so she must have asked me a bazillion times if it was time to put the glasses on yet. And then, the prompt came across the screen to put on the glasses and she was pumped and ready to go. It took both of us a little bit to adjust and this was such a great movie to "test" it out with. There wasn't too much in your face stuff...we had an interesting experience at Disney World with the 3D bug show when she was 5 so I was little nervous....the 3 years that have passed made a difference!

well...those are the cutest 3D glasses i ever did see! so glad you guys had a fun date! and tangled IS a great movie!!! still can't believe that we went on the same day, but not together!!! great minds think alike!
