Our sweet friends have invited us out to the lake to enjoy some fun times on their boat literally all summer long, but for one reason or another it ended up not working out. So today, we made it happen since it was the last official weekend of summer before the kids start school on Monday.
We love the lake, we love the boat, we love tubing, and we love our friends. We met bright and early with a picnic lunch packed ready for some fun!
Once we got there, it wasn't crowded at all and we quickly discovered the reason being the water was super duper choppy! We were determined to have fun anyway!
The kids had a blast jumping off the back of the boat and swimming together. Then we finally decided it was time for a little tubing. Everyone had a turn. Kaitlyn and Ashton went first and they went together by themselves....it was so funny to watch them having a blast, giggling, and squealing! I brought the wrong lens so I wasn't able to get close ups of their faces but they were awesome!
After the girls were finished, Landry and Coleson took a turn with the Mommas. Mr. Duane went really, really slow! Landry had so much fun!
This kid is FEARLESS!
After we played and a few of the adults took turns wakeboarding and water skiing, we stopped for our picnic lunch on the boat. Well, after the picnic our fun abruptly came to a HAULT. You see, the fantastic mom I am forgot once again (actually it never even crossed my mind) that my littlest girl gets motion sickness but has never been sick on a boat before. And because it was so choppy, she hurled all over the boat! I will spare you the details but it was awesome! Our friends were so sweet about the whole thing, needless to say we were mortified! I felt so bad for her...
Once we got on land, she was fine. So now we know for the future that I must remember that Landry gets motion sickness on boats sometimes too! Awesome!
Thanks for a great day (until the hurling) Gee family! We had such a fabulous time hanging with you and thanks for taking us out on the lake!
