Vacay ~ Day 4

Today was an extra special day on our vacation because today was Daddy's Birthday!

Since it was Daddy's birthday, we had a busy day planned.  After breakfast, we came out onto the patio and heard the ducks quacking and squawking asking for their breakfast. Landry quite enjoyed quacking right back at them and then listening for them to quack back at her. She thought that was pretty neat-o!

Mamo-the-Great took the girls down on the dock so they could feed the ducks. Feeding the ducks is always a fun part of our vacation and it something the girls look forward to each year.

Daddy, Papo, and Uncle Todd decided it would be appropriate and a very good idea to go golfing since it was Daddy's birthday and all. So while they were getting things loaded up and ready to go, Mamo, Mamo-the-Great and I were all outside taking pictures. It was quite a site to see the three of us with our cameras!

Daddy's Little Bro Uncle Todd and Daddy on his 37th Birthday!

Papo and his boys...only missing Aunt Marie's hubby Uncle Jeff!

While the boys were getting their gear, Ashton and Landry enjoyed playing in Papo's truck and especially sitting in the front seat since they are never in a front seat! Again it's the little things that make our girls happy!

While the boys were off playing golf, Mamo had a very important activity to do with the girls...Color Wonder Finger Painting. The girls totally loved it and I think Mamo did too!

So after the the boys' golf outing, we decided we needed to go into town for a few things and on the way home we grabbed some dinner to take on the boat with us for a picnic.

The girls were ready and pretty excited to go on a special  Birthday Picnic Dinner on the boat!

Landry was sitting is Ashton's usual spot...snuggled up with up with Mamo in the front of the boat.  That didn't last long so....

...Ashton immediately resumed her spot in Mamo's lap as soon as Landry moved her booty out of the way!

Lan-Lan found another seat (right next to Papo the Captain ) in Uncle Todd's lap!

While we were out on our evening boat ride we saw this Momma Duck and her cute little babies!

Once the evening boat ride and picnic dinner were over it was time to get some birthday celebrating started!
This afternoon while Landry was napping, Ashton and I made Daddy's birthday cake. It was his all time fave when he was a kid....chocolate cake with his Mommy's homemade white icing!  And you can't forget the candy decorations...those are Daddy's faves too!  He absolutely LOVED his 37th birthday cake!

{Please excuse the horrible quality of the birthday pictures. The settings on my camera were totally off, but I didn't have time to mess with them because I didn't want to miss any of the birthday celebrations and when there are two very excited little girls it is hard to make them wait on Momma to fix her camera}

Daddy's cake frosted and decorated by our very own 8 year old ARB!

The girls were so proud of the cards they chose for Daddy this year! They were especially proud of the writing on the front!

LP knows it is a big deal to blow out your candles when it is your birthday.  She was so proud of her Daddy, she felt he deserved a big hug and a "Good Job Daddy"

Since Ashton's birthday was just shy of a week ago, she got to do a little birthday celebrating too!  Mamo-the-Great gave her some moo-lah to spend on whatever she wanted, which is always fun for her!

And Mamo, Papo, and Uncle Todd gave her a gift card to the American Girl store so she could buy the styling chair and some accessories she wanted and they told her she got to shopping with them to pick out an outfit  She was loving all the shopping she was going to get to do!

Landry chose a "Cinderella Princess" card for Daddy and she was so stinkin' excited about it!  She could not wait for Daddy to open and see Cinderella! (It really was a card for a Daddy which was odd)

I am in love with this picture of my three favorite people on the planet! This is my favorite picture of the day!

We had to be sneaky with what we got Daddy for his birthday so he wouldn't know. I knew that if we got him an actual gift card he would see it on the bank statement and we had to get something that would pack easily and wouldn't take up much room since we were bringing it with us on the trip.  The girls know how much he loves Jelly Belly Jellybeans so they enjoyed filling this bag with all his faves...Landry was so excited about he jellybeans that she spoiled it for him before we even left on our trip and Ashton was devastated. As soon as we got home from Target after getting the jellybeans, she immediately ran to find him and tell him what we got! You see, Ashton is a rock star present secret keeper and always has been....Landry, not so much! Needless to say, it was whole lotta drama over jellybeans! The girls are each going to paint him a tile to use as a coaster for his desk when we get home as another birthday gift.

Our fourth day of vacation and Daddy's birthday ended in normal fashion....Skip-Bo with Ashton after Landry went to bed and these three chick-a-dees sitting at the table playing with their Nintendo DS's.  I think it is pretty cool that Ashton's grandmother and great grandmother  each have their own DS.  Ashton and Mamo were "texting" each other with theirs and Mamo-the-Great was playing a brain exercise game on hers. I just had to get a "3 generations" picture of them playing DS! Hilarious and very cool!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
We enjoyed spending Daddy's birthday at the lake with his mom, dad, grandma, and brother. If Aunt Marie, Uncle Jeff , Peyton and Cameron had been there it would have been perfect!
