Vacay ~ Day 5

Today was a pretty low key day. We had planned on playing on the lake for most of the day before heading back to Alabama, but the weather just didn't want to cooperate for us (this is actually a trend that happens pretty much every year on our last day at the lake) so that little plan didn't quite work out.  It rained off and on...we woke up to rain and clouds, but that didn't keep the girls from having fun anyway.

After we finished breakfast, we sat on the screened in porch and chatted and watched nature happen around the lake.  Landry was loving Mamo-the-Great's binoculars which were almost as big as her!

After the rain had stopped, Daddy decided he wanted to go down to the dock and do a little fishing...you see there was a big ole' fish we had seen and he wanted to try and catch it. Ashton decided she wanted to fish too, so Mamo-the-Great helped her get all set up....
and within seconds...
...she caught this little guy! She actually reeled it in pretty much by herself too.
She was so proud of herself  (and so were we)! Daddy got it off the hook for her and had her do the traditional "kiss your fish but not really" thing before he let it go.  ARB became quite the little pro at putting the frozen shrimp on her hook...she will gladly do the shrimp over worms any day of the week!

Not long after that, Lan-Lan decided she needed to be in on the action so she convinced Mamo to bring her down to the dock.

and since the rain had stopped for a while, she also convinced Mamo and Papo she needed to go for a ride with them on the jet ski.

and of course, they gladly took her up on it! So she went jet skiing in her jammies with Mamo and Papo...

...and was as happy as can be!

Then the ducks decided it was time for their breakfast so per our tradition, the girls got to feed the ducks in their jammies.

Splashing your feet in the water with Mamo is another must for the girls! Ashton used to love doing this when she was little and this the first year Landry's legs are long enough to do it!

Landry also convinced Papo to go swimming with her. She didn't really get to play with him much in the water on the other days so she was pretty happy. It started to rain again so she only got to jump in a few times with her Papo .

The girl could live in the water if we let her!

After a little playing in the lake we checked the weather and learned it wasn't going to clear up for the rest of the day...bummer! So after we got cleaned up and Landry had her nap,we packed up and headed back to Alabama. It was a nice visit in Tennessee with lots of fun...we so appreciate Mamo-the-Great for taking us in for the weekend. I know that is not easy to have that many extra people, especially a two year old!

Once got back to Mamo and Papo's house, we spent the evening enjoying some pizza and just relaxing with a little card playing of course!
