Pumpkin Carving...Part 1

*This post is the second part of our day. We have a "Pizza and Pumpkins" tradition with the Leonards where we get together have pizza for dinner and carve our pumpkins. We usually go to the Pumpkin Patch one day and do the carving on another day. Well....since we were pushed for time this year, and with everyone's schedules, we ended up having to do it all in one day.

Once the pumpkins were chosen, we left the "Pumpkin Tent"and headed to the Leonards house. Daddy and Mr. Bill went and got "Pei Wei" instead of "Pizza" for dinner this year...while the 3 big kids did their homework and the the 3 little sisters played. Ashton, Grayson, and Macy thought it was super cool to do their homework at the same time. They all had to read and they all had spelling words to practice and Ashton had an added Writing portion she had to do.
Lan-Lan P was just being "cute" when the big kids were being silly, so we had to get a picture of her too!

These kiddos are so funny and cute and silly...love them to pieces!
Pumpkin Carving Time! For the record....this is the first time Ashton has actually wanted to participate in the cleaning out of the pumpkin. Actually, all of the kids with the exception of Landry were "into" it.
Sleeves pushed up...ready for the action!

I was pretty impressed that she stuck around to help out...it only took 7 years, but hey we're here AND she was using her hands!

I was loving that Anna was ON the table getting in on the action!

oh and I love Macy's face and Carly's little hands on the spoon!
These two Daddies are AWESOME pumpkin carvers!

Grayson and Anna left a little early since they were going to paint their pumpkins later in the week rather than carve. We were running low on time and since it was a school night and bath night for our two girls, I bathed them in Macy's and Carly's tub. Ashton was able to put on some of Macy's jammies and I put Landry's extra outfit on her from her diaper bag. While the Daddies finished up the carving, the three big girls played a game while Landry colored.

Ashton's pumpkin is all done...she loved it!
Landry was more excited about the candle inside the pumpkin so Daddy lifted her up to see.
Ashton's pumpkin turned jack-0-lantern....nice work Daddy!

Macy's Pumpkin turned jack-o-lantern!
We only had time to do the Big Girls' pumpkins tonight, so tomorrow we will do the Little Girls' pumpkins on our own. That is what happens when you run out of time and we have to fit everything in on a school day. We had a ton of fun today with our peeps!
