This week Ashton was the "Star Student" in her class!Each week a different student gets this honor and Ashton has been waiting very patiently for it to be her turn...and on Friday she found out it was finally her turn!!
Mrs. Allen sent home an assignment sheet explaining what Ashton needed to do in order to prepare for being the Star Student. By Monday morning she had to have her brown paper bag filled with 3-4 objects that showcased her interests, she needed to send in a picture and she had to write 1-2 sentences answering a series of questions. Easy enough.
She was SO.STINKIN.EXCITED.ABOUT.THIS! First thing she did on Saturday morning when she woke up (even before breakfast) was fill her bag with the carefully chosen items. Here is what she chose:
*one jazz shoe~she loves dance especially jazz
*an American Girl Book~she loves to read
*softball key chain~she loves softball
*Coconut her American Girl Dog~she loves American Girls and dogs and playing
Next we sat down at the computer and went through the insane amount of pictures we took in February so she could choose the picture for her poster and get it printed.
On Sunday afternoon we worked on her cards...
...here is what she wrote and I shall quote:
*My Birthday is July 6, 2002
*My favorite thing about school is reading because I learn new thing's.
*My goal for the future is to be a teacher because when I wach Mrs. Allen it seem's like fun!
*I am proud of my self for beaing a big sister!
*Something I like about my self is I am nice to peapol.
If you know Ashton...you know the more something sparkles, the better it is! So of course we had to put glitter around the edges of her cards. I think it made it too cute and she had fun doing it.
She was soooo ready for school on Monday. Mrs. Allen had a special star student necklace for her to wear and she did her presentation. Oh how we LOVE this kid!!!
What an exciting week....star student AND a field trip...WOW!!

What a big girl! I am impressed she writes so well and in complete sentences! Holy cow what a smart little cookie! :) What a STAR student!!
I love that she can write and spell so well! Tell her Great Auntie Tutu (the teacher) is so proud of her! And I love Landry's arms-up purse walking! Too cute.
