Mountains...By Daddy & Ashton

Ashton has been learning about landforms in school...to show what she has learned, she had to do a project on any landform of her choice excluding the ocean. So she chose to do Mountains! She wanted to make a 3D model using salt dough.

We spent the weekend getting the supplies needed, making the salt dough~trying to get it to work. We had a hard time...the dough was so soft that it kept turning into a blob. Finally last night we decided to put the dough in the fridge to make it a little harder then we would bake it to make it hard. What do you know...it worked out great! Today after school Ashton made her mountains with Daddy's help, she painted her mountains and finished her model. She and Daddy had a blast and it turned out great.
She is so proud of her model. She typed the words, chose the font and font color too. She did a lot of the work herself which makes it even better. Daddy helped with the gluing since they used the hot glue gun. They even put rolled up newspaper under the felt to make little hills and cotton balls for the snow on top of the mountains.
And here is the finished mountain project...
