For Thanksgiving, we made our annual day trip to Lorena which is just south of Waco.We go down in the morning so we can arrive before football starts and we head home after the Cowboy game so I can get up and go shopping super early Friday morning with Jodi.
My mom is almost always gone for Thanksgiving. Her job which requires her to travel with the Baylor Women’s Basketball team takes them to some fun places for a tournament. Two Thanksgivings ago they went to Puerto Rico and this year they went to the Virgin Islands. How rough is that? She sent us all a text Thanksgiving morning saying she was hanging out by the pool.We missed her since she wasn’t with us, but are glad she gets to go to fun places. We were very jealous!
My sister Megan, decided to do Thanksgiving at her house and it was great. She had a house full: our crew, Ricci's parents and sister and brother-in-law, my dad, and my sister Heather and her 3 boys.We missed having Ninny this year too! Ashton played with the babies (she does such a good job with this), the boys watched football, and the rest of us girls worked on the food.
Landry LOVED her first Thanksgiving because she got to eat all of kinds of new foods. Here is what she ate and loved every single bit of it: turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, broccoli and cheese casserole, stuffing, homemade mac-n-cheese, and of course the rolls. She even got to sample a small piece of Daddy’s apple pie.
I took a bunch of pictures since mom missed Landry’s and Parker’s first Thanksgiving. After looking at my pictures, I didn’t do a very good job getting everyone. I didn’t take one single picture of my sister Megan or her husband Ricci and Parker was always in the middle of closing his eyes or something of that sort. Anyway, her are bunch of pics from our Turkey Day.
Ashton playing with Parker and Landry
Parker gave Uncle Bobby a kiss and he didn't even ask for one...how sweet is that?
Grampy, Auntie Heather, and Ashton chatting after dessert!
Brodie (my nephew) and his Auntie Erin
Poor Jon....he hurt his ankle in one of his last football games and had surgery to put pins in his ankle the day before Thanksgiving. Uncle Ricci let him borrow his "throne" all day.
Landry was obsessed with Jon's bracelet!
Landry and her cousin Chris
Landry, the bracelet, and her cousin Brodie
Whoa! Look at what happens when Landry get a hold of Ashton's hair. Not only does Landry like to pull out her own bows...she goes for Ashton's too!
Landry and her bracelet...she didn't put this down for a LONG time!
While Parker went to visit his great grandma...Auntie Megan let Landry ride in Parker's car. She LOVED this thing. She giggled and squealed and was so excited. Ashton pushed Landry around and took her to pretend places like Starbucks, Target, Walmart, and the mall...all in this fun car.
Landry has perfected "touchdown"...she was doing it for her audience. Bobby is so proud! He taught both girls to do this before they turned 1.
Our sweet girls...we are so thankful and blessed to have them! They are our greatest gift ever!
We are so thankful for our family and so many other things. We truly enjoy every opportunity we get to spend time with them. We sure did miss Grammy…but we will see her this weekend!
