Ashton's Room...

We just recently finished doing some “updating” to Ashton’s room. When we were doing Landry’s room, Ashton wanted their rooms to match. Ashton wanted to have two colors on her walls and she wanted one of them to be pink (Landry’s room is a pale green on top with a white chair rail and pale pink on the bottom).

Ashton has also been telling us that she thinks her room is “too babyish”. Well, we aren’t quite ready to completely change her room…we plan to wait a few more years. But we decided to let her pick some things to make it different. First she wanted the whole wall to be pink…not light pink…dark pink. That was not okay with Daddy or Mommy. So we let her choose the pink she wanted on the bottom and Daddy and Mr. Bill put up a chair rail while the little girls played with every toy in the playroom, and us big girls chatted and made dinner.

She recently got a desk to hold all of her stuff so Landry won’t get into it. Her room is a “No Landry Zone”. (This is one thing you have to do when your kids are 5 ½ years apart and there are LOTS of toys with tiny pieces.) She picked out a new lamp shade (which is the same as Landry’s just a different pink) and new night light (again just like Landry’s but a different color). These changes made her quite happy. She helped Daddy with the process. She held the measuring tape, made marks on the wall for the chair rail and even helped paint a little bit. She was thrilled!

Here are some pictures of the new, pretty pink paint, and chair rail

Good call on the "no all pink" room...The two colors are just perfect. LMA did a good job picking out the shade of pink!!!
