On Sunday morning we checked one of our favorite fall traditions off the list! We went to the
Pumpkin Patch with the
Leonards (we missed the Scheers being there with us). Last year October seemed to fly by us and we ran out of weekends to go, so we ended up at the plain pumpkin patch…not our usual. So this year we made sure we had it marked on our calendar…in fact, I think we planned it back in September!
Ashton was so pumped…she couldn’t wait for Landry to get to go to the Pumpkin Patch for her first time. Unfortunately, Landry had gotten her first cold so as you will see in all the pictures her nose and eyes are red and there are even some that glisten from her runny nose. Even though she had a cold, she was a happy girl and loved the pumpkin patch. There were so many new things for her to discover and
LOTS to see! We had so much fun and took
TONS of pictures! Here are just a few (excuse the wierd orange dot on some of the pics-I am so not a pro and don't know why it is there)…

Ashton & Macy going through the first "Hay Maze"

An Ashton close up... I love her freckles, blue eyes, and pretty smile!

The 3 Big Girls in jail...they do make cute little inmates

And now for the Sherriff in town

Ashton couldn't wait for Landry to get in this...she remembered it from the last time we went and Carly was in it. She talked about it for weeks. This was right after we put Landry in...she was discovering the hay.

A smile from the girl with a little baby cold

Moving on to discover the scarecrow...

And finally a picture with Sis...still touching the scarecrow

In search of the perfect pumpkin for Daddies to carve...notice the hands on Ashton's hips

The wagon full of "Perfect Pumpkins" for the Daddies to carve...another fall tradition. Dinner, playing, and supervising the Daddies while they carve the perfect faces

Something you don't see everyday...Lunch in the back of our Tahoe after Carly's bee sting
We had a few incidents during our visit…Carly got stung by a bee and no one knew if she would have an allergic reaction or not…she didn’t thank goodness! She handled it like a champ~you would never have known she got stung. As a result of the millions of bees and after Carly got stung, we decided it was best to have our picnic in the back of our Tahoe with no bees.
Then Macy & Ashton have NEVER wanted their faces painted but this year, that was one thing they wanted to do so we were going to take advantage of this momentous occasion and let them get it done. Only we saved it for after our picnic lunch. When we got to the spot and there was a line with an estimated 30 minute wait….Landry was D-O-N-E and ready for her nap, Carly’s dose of Benedryl had kicked in and she was minutes away from zonking out. So we decided to head on home…with 2 very disappointed big girls. As a consolation, the Daddies each bought a HUGE bag of Kettle Corn (another pumpkin patch tradition only this bag was bigger than I remember). We promised the girls they would get their faces painted the next time it was available no matter what.
After a fun day of choosing pumpkins to carve, pumpkins for the girls’ rooms, a hayride, running through the pumpkin patch, a picnic in the car, yummy kettle corn, hay mazes and tons of pictures, we headed home having had a great time and great memories of Landry’s first pumpkin patch trip and Ashton’s first trip to the pumpkin patch as a big sister!

That looks like it was so much fun! There are so many pumpkins patch places all over here (one right across from our school) and I always think it looks like such a fun thing to do. Not usually the thing to do if you don't have kids though.... :)
Love all the pictures!
