8 Months Old...

Landry Paige is now 8 MONTHS OLD….how in the world did that happen? It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that we were going to the hospital at 7 am on January 7th to be induced! This last month sure has been exciting…

*She is completely commando army crawling making her arms stronger for real crawling…if we ever get there. When I set her on all fours, she stays for a second and then decides she would rather be flat on her tummy. She also still loves to roll like a log. The important thing is that she is mobile however that may be. Right now we are still faster than she is. We can see where she is headed and get there before she does. I do a lot of watching and following her while she explores. She has discovered she can get herself from her blanket of toys in the living room to the hallway which leads to the playroom and entry way tile. She has ventured to the hallway that leads to our bedroom but that is about it. If we are playing in her bedroom, she will crawl herself out the door and think about going to Ashton’s room until Mommy nixes that idea. So far, she really hasn’t discovered her bathroom which is funny to me (it is in her room)…I will regret it once she does I am sure. It is only a matter of time before she discovers how to get to the other rooms in the house!

*She is much too busy to have her diaper changed and her clothes put on…especially jammies…usually because she is so tired she would rather go straight for her story, blankie, binky and of course nursing.

*She absolutely LOVES to take a bath (and swim in the pool) and would stay there as long as we would let her. She squeals with delight and splashes and just loves to play in there. She also loves to stand next to the tub and squeal while Ashton is having her bath. She even tries to put her feet up like she is going to climb right on in.

*We have been using sign language with her and she understands “milk”, “eat”, “more” and her all time fave is “all done”. She gets excited and bounces if you ask her if she wants milk (which means nursed) or to eat. When she is eating, we always ask her if she wants more using our sign and she rocks back and forth in her high chair and makes this cute little face.
*She has funny facial expressions and has learned to make this cute little face whenever she is excited about something. She closes her eyes, scrunches up her nose, breathes in and out of her nose like she is a pig and rocks back and forth…it is hilarious!
Landry's new little face she makes...I think she will be a funny girl
*She is learning to clap…she can move her hands back and forth but they don’t touch. Think of a seal flapping flippers without touching. Hopefully by next month she will have it down.

*She loves when you take her hand and wave “bye-bye”. She squeals, smiles, bounces up and down. She isn’t doing it on her own yet, but we are working on this too.

*She is a WILD sleeper…every time we go check on her she is in a different position. She has usually done 180’s and almost always has her blankie snuggled up under her. She loves the aquarium in her crib…especially kicking it with her feet turning it on and off.

*She has decided in the last week she has better things to do than take two naps a day. To her, one nap is sufficient….Let me tell you IT'S NOT! When she only takes one nap, she is exhausted by 5:00 and from 6:00-7:00 it is a struggle to keep her awake until bedtime and her eyes are usually so red. At least she sleeps really well at night!

*No teeth yet but that doesn’t bother her at all. She eats some real pieces of food and LOVES it! She loves to eat bananas, avocado, steamed squash, Gerber Sweet Potato Puffs, and Gerber Apple Cinnamon Wagon Wheels (broken into pieces). She loves to watch us eat and if we are eating she needs to be “eating” something too.

*She LOVES to drink out of her sippy cup and has figured it out (it is not just playing any more). She usually drinks it faster than she can swallow and the extra runs out of her mouth and down her chin.

*She has the greatest belly laugh and giggle…when I am changing her diaper and trying to keep her on her back…I tell her I am going to kiss that cute belly and she laughs and laughs. It really doesn’t take much to get her to laugh!

8 month chair pics...I needed to distract since she was trying to get the camera!

She is kinda looking at the camera...it was the best I could get...it gets harder each month!

She crawls over anything in her way...she crawled over the metal bars on her Frog Bouncer so she play under it...funny girl!

*Some of her faves right now are: shoes, shoe laces or strings of any kind, and baby dolls. She even gives the babies kisses...too cute. Ashton didn't even know what a baby doll was at this age I don't think. That is the advantage of having a Big Sis. She also loves to be in Ashton's play room, she will crawl all over in there getting whatever she can get her hands on. Again...the advantage of having a Big Sis.

*She does a lot of squealing/happy screaming and smiling. She wouldn’t be our Lan-Lan P if she didn’t and we love it and her to pieces!
