Her game was at 9:00 this morning so we were up and on our way bright and early. She had to be there at 8:45 (coach showed up at 5 til nine…kind of frustrating). It takes a lot for all four of us to be up, showered, dressed, fed, and all gear in tow and be out the door by 8:30. It is especially hard on a Saturday morning when all we want to do is lay in bed, snuggle and watch tv until 8:30. But hey, it wasn’t hot since we had an early game so that is a major plus! It was all totally worth it!
Ashton was so excited…and we were excited for her. Her team is called the “Royal Blues” and she is number 5. They got their uniforms on Wednesday…the high light was the VISOR! Yes…the visor. She has wanted a “little girl” visor and she finally got one. She was even wearing it around the house this evening…too cute!
Softball was much smoother than soccer and much more of a “hit”! Ashton played first base today, hit the ball off the tee and got to make her way around the bases even home. We were so impressed with how well she paid attention…don’t get me wrong…she did spin and twirl in her uniform but not during the game. She “gets” what she is supposed to do (and is more willing to do it) much better than she did in soccer. In fact, tonight when I was putting her to bed, I told her how proud I was of her today and how much fun I had watching her play. She told me she loves to play softball and it was fun! Yipppeee!
So game one down, and ten more to go. We are looking forward to seeing her progress and hopefully she will continue to have as much fun as she did today.
Landry was happy to be at softball because she got to sit in her stroller and practice eating her Gerber Sweet Potato puffs and drink her juice out of her sippy cup like a big girl! Once she finished with that, she was happy to have mommy hold her and watch and listen to all that was going on, not to mention all the people in the stands talking to her. It won't be long before we're hustling around watching both of these girls playing some sort of sport!!!
