Every month is so much fun for us and it is even more fun to see things through Ashton’s eyes as the big sister. Landry is definitely in love with her Big Sis…her face lights up anytime Ashton comes into the room!
The monthly pictures of Landry in the rocking chair get more and more challenging (and entertaining) with each month. This month she figured out that the chair rocks and she just had to make it rock! This made it virtually impossible to do the pictures by myself. I had to have Ashton get Landry’s attention, and Daddy’s job was to make sure Landry didn’t rock or roll herself out of the chair! I wish we could have had a picture of all of us taking the picture! Landry also decided she would rather roll around in her chair, which meant she was no longer sitting.
7 month spotlight…
*Her rolling has improved…she is F-A-S-T! And can get anywhere she wants to. In fact, I have to put her in her crib while I am fixing Ashton’s hair in the morning because she seems to roll into places she shouldn’t be.
*I am still convinced she is going to skip crawling all together! She will occasionally pull her legs up under her and scoot(ever so slightly) but that is as far as we get. She would much rather roll!
*Her sweet baby babbling has really grown this month too! She makes the best sounds: mamamamamama, dadadadadadad, b-b-b-b-b-b-, among other jibberish.
*She has done great with her veggies…she has had peas, green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, and avocado. Sweet potatoes are her fave and peas are her least fave but she still eats them with no more gagging!
*We have just begun fruits which are delish! So far we have had applesauce and bananas.

*She loves her oatmeal/rice cereal for breakfast...this is her favorite meal.
*We started her on a sippy cup…she thinks it is the greatest thing ever! She has loved our big people cups for a while. She knew what to do, but discovered it is harder than it looks. She has a hard time tilting her head back far enough. “Practicing” with her sippy cup during lunch and dinner occupies her while we eat. When she actually does get some water from her cup, she gets the biggest smile on her face!

*She loves to shake things and still doesn’t have the greatest control so most of the time she bonks herself in the head. It doesn’t seem to phase her in the least. She likes to shake things that make noise. She has figured out that if she shakes them, they make noise and if she stops, they don’t make noise. I was watching her play with her shaker in the high chair the other day and I could see the wheels turning as she would shake, shake, then stop. Shake, shake, shake then stop.
*She has gotten much better at napping. She takes at least one good 2 hour nap and some days she takes two! When she wakes up from her naps, she loves to go out and see Ashton and Bobby. She gets disappointed when no one is home to see her after a nap.
*She would much rather stand than sit these days but she can’t do it on her own and really has no interest. She will straighten and stiffen her body if you try to sit her down when she wants to be standing. This happens a lot getting in her carseat!
*She still smiles so big ALL the time and we love it!
*She is a BUSY, BUSY girl! She is always squirming, bouncing, and rolling trying to get somewhere or something!
*She is discovering different things such as her ears, and hair (mine, hers, and Ashton’s). When she is tired, she pulls on her hair.
*She knows her blankie means bedtime/naptime…when I get it she starts bouncing in my arms and then dives her head into it to snuggle!
*This month she decided she is afraid of Buster. I think it is more when Buster moves (which isn’t often). Bobby had her standing on the floor in the office the other day and Buster got up to walk toward them. She freaked out…let out this scared scream and tried to turn around as fast as she could. When Bobby picked her up, she was shaking and snuggled him. She then turned her head to watch Buster.
…went great! She has grown 3 INCHES in the last year and gained 4 pounds. Our Doctor said she is in the 95 percentile for her height and weight. He said the reason we don’t notice she is so tall is because she is a July birthday and the kids she is in school with are older than she is, so she blends in. He said she is the size of an average 7 ½ year old! She has Grampy's 6'5" genes that's for sure!
