She had her 6 month check up on Monday and her doctor said she looks GREAT! He was impressed that she is sitting up and has been for a few weeks now. Here are her 6 month stats:
*Her weight is…14 lbs and 9 oz (25-50%)
*Her height is…25 ¾ inches (75%)
*Her head is…16 ¼ inches (25-50%)
Even though she is below average for her head and weight, he isn’t concerned because she has made steady gains on her growth chart and she started out smaller than the average baby to begin with. We got the green light to go ahead and start her on more solids. Up until this week she has been only eating cereal…which she LOVES!
These chair pictures every month are so much fun to take!
" Lan-Lan P" hanging out in Ashton's bean bag...mini cheetah girl
We started with peas since I think that is what we started Ashton with…she seemed to like them at first. We soon figured out that if Daddy puts too much on the spoon she gags. If you give her “baby birdy bites” she is all over it! Today we tried carrots for the first time and she just can’t get enough! Ashton has to try everything we give Landry…she would eat a bowl of rice cereal if we would let her … she didn’t like the peas but LOVED the carrots!
Eating peas like a big girl...Too much Daddy!
That is so much better!
Kissy for my sissy...I LOVE this!!!
She is "belly laughing" at silly mommy
Laughing and sqealing with pure delight at her Daddy!

Here are some of the things she is doing (and not doing):
*NOT taking regular naps and sometimes going all day with NO NAP (even after many long attempts on my part) which means that by 5:00 she is ready for bed and we have to try and keep her up long enough to eat one more time before bed! She could do the Visine “red eyes” commercial. I have tried pretty much everything I have read and know to do...any other ideas are welcome!
*She is still sleeping like a champ at night. Goes to bed anywhere between 7:00 and 7:30, sleeps till 4 am, is fed and goes back to sleep until between 7am and 8am. We had a brief time where she was waking up around midnight and she would go back to sleep quickly... it didn’t last for very long.
*She is sitting up by herself and loves to sit up and play.
*She chews on EVERYTHING! She especially loves to chew on her hands, tags, balls, and strings.
*She has figured out how to make herself bounce like crazy in her frog and really goes to town.
*I am convinced she isn’t going to crawl (and even asked Dr. N about it and he said many babies skip crawling now that they are put to sleep on their backs and for me not to freak out if she went from rolling to cruising). If you put her on her tummy, she immediately starts to roll and can get anywhere! It is so fun to watch her.
*She is eating (nursing) every 4 hours…this is FABULOUS!
*She is learning to give what we think are kisses…open mouth and very slobbery!
*She still smiles ALL the time…this makes me melt!
*She has learned to squeal/scream mostly when she is happy. She is quite proud of herself and has also figured out she can do it while crying!
*She LOVES to splash in the pool but only after she has gotten used to the water…not so happy when we first get in and it is cold.
*She started taking her baths sitting up which means it is easier (and more fun) to splash. She plays with the cup and rubber ducky and has a ball!
She is in a super fun stage right now…with each stage that comes I am happy…but also sad that we leave other stages behind. We love everyday with both girls. We are so blessed to have 2 healthy and beautiful (we think so anyway) little girls.
