Look...No Cast!

Yes…Ashton got her cast off! I am not sure who was more excited…her or me. It was a real bugger to put a bag over it for baths and then for her to hold it out of the water. Not only that, but now she can go SWIMMING! This poor girl has wanted to go swimming since summer started and that was the first thing we asked the great Dr. Burns.

She was a true big girl…in fact, I was a bit shocked at the whole thing. Two years makes a HUGE difference. (Last time it took 3 of us to hold her down and she almost needed to be sedated) We went into the exam room, the tech came in to get her. I thought he was going to take her for her x-ray so Landry and I stayed in the exam room. Next thing I know, I hear the cast remover tool. I thought to myself, there is no way she is having her cast off right now. Sure enough, she comes bee-boppin’ in the room showing off her scrawny arm! She was very proud of herself as she should have been. The next trip was the x-ray. Dr. Burns came in and said she looks good but he wants her to wear a splint for 2 weeks for protection. She can take it off for swimming and baths.
