Memorial Day Weekend….
We had a very fun and eventful Memorial Day weekend. I have decided to break it up by day/event since it won’t be so long to read. I can also add pictures that way! There is a lot on the schedule for our house in the next couple of weeks which means lots of blogging!
Thursday…
Our weekend started here with the plane trip to Alabama. Bobby’s brother, Todd, graduated from high school so the family packed up and flew in for the weekend. This was also the first time Bobby’s family got to meet Little Miss Landry.
Ashton was very excited (and a little nervous) to fly on an airplane. She and I have flown many times in her life but they were when she was a baby and doesn’t remember. When we lived in Colorado we flew to Texas for visits.
Anyway, we picked Ashton up from school and headed to the airport. We arrived with all of our gear and made it through security fairly easily. They had to use the wand on Ashton’s cast both ways. We found a spot to hangout, eat, and feed Landry her cereal.
Our plane was delayed an hour on the runway! It was so crowded that we had to sit and wait our turn to take off. Luckily both girls did great! All Ashton wanted to do was watch a movie on her DVD player which couldn’t happen until after take off. So instead she asked a million and one questions about what it will be like to fly and if we were going yet and yadda-yadda-yadda. She was so curious and you could totally tell she was nervous to fly and very excited to get to Huntsville! Landry slept while we waited, but as soon as the captain came on to tell us it was our turn, she got scared out of her sleep and was awake for the rest of the trip. She was very happy the entire time!
We finally arrived and Bobby’s Dad was there to get us. We got to the Alabama Bryce house where everyone was waiting. Landry got some good loving from everyone then went to bed. Ashton got some good loving then played with her cousins for a bit then went to bed herself!
