This was my first mother’s day with both Ashton and Landry and it was everything I could have wanted it to be. I absolutely love being their mommy! Ashton gets so excited about holidays and she was especially excited about this one. I have many things to share that happened this week in anticipation.
On Monday, Bobby picked Ashton up from school because they had some “things” to do. Bobby and Ashton had been discussing what to get me for mother’s day. Ashton thought I needed a diamond necklace and diamond bracelet to go with my diamond earrings. Bobby had tried to explain to her that those were too dressy for me to wear all the time…but that a casual necklace would be good. So he told her she could pick which store to go to and what to get me. They walked around Macy’s looking for a necklace but couldn’t find anything. He had remembered I had gotten a few necklaces from Claire’s before so they went there. Well…in Claire’s, one side of the store is for kids and teenie-boppers and the other side is for adults. Which side do you think Ashton went to? You guessed it…the non-adult side. Bobby tried to coax her to the adult side but she wouldn’t have it. Then when she picked out the necklace and bracelet she wanted to get me he tried to convince her again to look at something else. She looked at him and said, “Daddy, we had a deal and you are breaking the deal.” He said at that moment he caved!
She was so excited and proud of this purchase. So when I opened it today, her little face was beaming! I will proudly wear that jewelry…my big girl picked it out just for me!
When they got home and I asked where they went, she smiled and said “sonic”. So anytime after that when she would whisper in Bobby’s ear about mother’s day, she would say, “I am just talking about sonic…that’s all!”
She also made a couple of things for me at school... “Hats Off to Mom”
This is a cute little book that talks about how I do many jobs like teacher, cook, nurse, magician (because I can make lost things appear), sanitation worker, and chauffeur
“The Purse Book” This one made me crack up!
“My mother is wonderful. She’s pretty as a diamond. She is 50 tall and weighs 45 pounds. She really likes to look at blogs. Her favorite color is yellow and her favorite food is fish. In her spare time she likes to watch tv (she told me she wanted to put “while breastfeeding” on there but the line wasn’t long enough). We have fun playing together.”
Two years ago, for mother’s day all I wanted was for Bobby and Ashton to make me something. They made me a garden stone…Bobby didn’t like how it turned out so he threw it away. He did make me another one (he wanted it to be better). This year, he made one with Landry’s feet. I absolutely love these two precious stones!
