Last Saturday (March 1st) Ashton went to the University of Nevada baseball game with Bobby. You may be wondering what the connection is...well here you go!
My Aunt Becky and Uncle Les live in Sparks, Nevada and are huge fans and supporters of the University of Nevada athletics. They have season tickets to the baseball games. Each year Dallas Baptist University (I think) hosts a tournament here in Frisco at the Rough Riders stadium. Last year Bobby and Ashton had a "date" to go watch Bobby's alma mater Southwest Missouri State play at this tournament. She had a blast! The games are not crowded so they always get great seats. So this year Nevada played in that same tournament. Aunt Becky and Uncle Les sent the girls Nevada shirts to wear to the game.
Well the day came and the weather that morning was glum, breezy, and kind of chilly so we decided it wasn't a good idea for Landry to be out in that so Ashton had another "date" with her daddy. She was not happy that we weren't going as a family. She cried and told us over and over that we needed to be doing this all together. It made us both feel horrible...it is very hard to explain to a 5 year old why an almost 2 month old can't be out in that type of weather. On a side note, it ended up being an absolutely beautiful day and we could have taken her. Boy do I need a crystal ball!
Aunt Becky had told the coach we would be a the game that day. Ashton all dressed and looking very cute in her Nevada shirt was sitting there when the coach came up to her and asked if she was Ashton. She was not sure how he knew her name but when Bobby seemed okay with it she talked to him. He handed her a signed ball which made her day! Thanks Aunt Becky and Uncle Les! Landry's shirt is huge on her but we will get pictures of both girls in there shirts.

I hope Ashton knows that ball is hers to keep. Glad it worked out. Keep wearing your Wolfpack shirts.
