Ashton's "Own" Money

I have an update on the job chart we started for Ashton about a month ago. The "jobs" that she is doing are things that we expect of her, but she isn't in the habit of doing them just yet so I figured we would make it her job for now to set the habit in place, then we can eventually replace these jobs with actual chores. She is doing great with some of them and some we will have to work on for a bit longer.
**Feeding Buster and setting/clearing the table she gets every week.
**Putting her shoes where they belong is most of the time (I bought a handy hanging shoe organizer from Wal Mart that she thinks is the coolest thing ever which helps...thanks for the idea Jodi) and sometimes she gets the clothes.
**The toys....I don't think she has been paid for that one yet!

We have taken two trips to Target so she can spend her money. I thought it was going to be a whippin' but she surprised me. The first trip was about 20 minutes and she ended up with a pair of pink and silver dress up shoes. We arrived with $7.00 and some change...and she spent $4.32. The shoes were the first thing she went to but she wanted to look at other things to make sure that is what she really wanted.

The funniest part of the whole story is this headband that she has wanted. Some of the girls in kindergarten wear them (they have ties at the bottom that hang out under your hair). She wanted to look at those-- so we did. She tried her best to convince me to buy the headband for her and she would buy the shoes with her money since she didn't have enough for both. I explained that she would have to choose what she wanted. She went with the shoes. The next morning at breakfast she tells me she has a great idea. She says: "Hey mommy, after dance today we can just bop on over to Target and get the headband since it is right by dance." I explained again that she didn't have enough money. she informed me that no, I would use my money for it. She tried again the next time we were at Target with no luck. And today we went back after she got paid to get "the headband". Here is a picture so you can get a visual of this pink and silver headband (enjoy "The Pose")...

My girls have about 8 of those headbands and have figured out tons of different ways to wear them!
