Day 3 :: March 10th
The weather at the beach this year was not the best...it was COLD, and WINDY, and CLOUDY. This didn't make for much fun...but our girlswere troopers and made the best of it.
While we waited to see if the sun would come out, they sat on the patio and colored.
{I love that they still do this and I love that they still do this together!}
We made our usual "MUST MAKE" trip to Joe Patti's and grabbed us some "fresh off the boat" seafood for dinner. We love this place, but don't love the way it smells. Seafood tastes so much better when it is fresh. It is just a cool experience and one we can't get in Texas.
And after the girls endured the smell of the seafood shop, we treated them to benets (sp?). Hot fresh and super delicious benets! And yes...it's a little random!
The sun came out for a bit so we made our way down to the beach...the water was FUH-reezing! Daddy did what any great Daddy would do...he sucked it up and got in the water to do "jump splits" with Lan-Lan P. That is as far as either of them went into the water.
The view form our condo building. It was pretty cool because every single room had a beach view balcony. The doors were on the opposite side.
Our set up on the beach...the umbrellas created a wall to keep the wind out. And when the sun was out and the wind was blocked, it was actually quite nice. But once you stepped away from our little cove...it was pretty chilly. The kids weren't bothered nearly as much as the grown ups!
This little girl is DETERMINED to master the cartwheel. She was so excited that I told her she could do as many cartwheels as she wanted on the sand.
She thought she wanted to get in the water, but as soon as her toes touched it...she decided against it!
The big girls were a little braver. They decided to wade in the waves, but only to their ankles.
We spent several hours on the beach but the wind and clouds took over and forced us to head inside. Luckily, we took turns hanging out between the three condos and swam at the indoor pool to keep us from going totally crazy!
