"A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart."

Yesterday was the day our girls {and Daddy} have been looking forward to for a while. It was they day of the Daddy-Daughter-Dance! I love that both girls love going and as I have said before, I love that Bobby makes it a special time for each of them. They get to go with just him and they don't have to the share the Daddy Time with the other one.

Landry was SUPER excited about her dress...she loved the tie and suit Daddy picked out to match her. She was excited to wear her silver sparkly shoes she got for Christmas, she was excited to wear her sparkly headband and have her hair in a bun....which was the hairdo of her choice. To say the least, this girl was excited about every part of this special day!

{As you can tell in the picture, her eyes show that she had been crying. She chose to have a bun with the headband as her hair do. So Mommy bought the bun thingy, bobby pins and the head band. I got her hair all done and when she went to check it out in the mirror...the waterworks started! She did NOT like the way the bun looked and her day was ruined. Luckily, we made it work by putting her hair in a ponytail and she was satisfied, sad but satisfied.}

The second picture was what we were looking for...the "Landry Pose".

{and this one is MONEY...the smile is priceless and one of my favorite things. I know this picture is way over exposed, but I wanted to include it because it shows her HAPPY self!}

I just LOVE that she is on her tippy toes with her head on Daddy's chest....melts my heart!

Landry was excited to see her friends from the 'hood at the dance. Ava and Elyse...Daddy was glad to see Mr. Brent and Mr. Ron at the dance. Landry got her groove on, but she was also sure to help herself to probably seconds and thirds at the snack table...cookies and sprite and no Mommy in sight to tell her "no", she was in heaven!!

Landry had a very FULL day. After the DDD, she and I headed off to a birthday party for one her school friends. So I grabbed a few quick pix of Ashton and Daddy before we left.

I seriously can't handle how grown up Ashton looked. She did her own hair, painted her own nails, and pretty much did everything to get ready all on her own. This Momma was only around to take pictures.

Ashton and Daddy represented Ashton's softball team this year. Ashton's team is red, white, and black so Ashton fell in love with this dress and wanted her nails red. Daddy found the perfect tie to compliment her ensemble. Go Twist!

I want her to always be goofy in pictures...I don't want her to lose this or think she is too cool. I love looking through my pictures and seeing her goofiness!

For the first time EVER in the history of Ashton and Daddy going to the DDD, I didn't take them and pick them up. Ashton's time was so late and since Lan-Lan had such a FULL day, she needed to be in bed at a decent time.

I love that the girls enjoy this time with their Daddy so much. I know that some people might think it is over the top to have a dance like this but, I love that they get to have their first "dating" experience with their Daddy. I love the example he is setting for how the girls should be treated by boys when the day comes for them to go to a real dance with a boy who isn't their Daddy. I love the time they get to spend with their Daddy.

These girls are incredibly lucky to have BB as their Daddy. He spends pretty much his entire day doing DDD stuff...picking up corsages, putting on two different suits and ties, going to two different dances that are an hour and half long each. Plus all the pictures he smiles through....I know he loves doing this for the girls. He loves spending time with them and loves having this one special day each year to get dressed up with the girls. He knows the time will quickly come when they are going to dances with boys and will look back and treasure the moments he had doing this with them!

Everyone had a great time at their dances and everyone was exhausted by the end of the day. Can't wait to see what next year's DDD is like!
