My favorite post of the month!
Landry and I went up to the school to have lunch with our Big Girl. We don't get to do this very often since Ashton eats lunch so late and it runs into Landry's nap time. Plus...holding Landry off of lunch til 1:00 is really hard to do!
Ashton and her peeps...Gia's mom was also there eating with her so each of the girls were able to choose a friend to sit with us.
Our after school treat for the week was at Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt....these two love them some fro yo!
When Daddy is out of town for work, we like to send him a picture of the girls before they go to school. The girls love it...and Daddy loves seeing his girls before he starts his day!
Daddy took Landry to Jammie Storytime at the Library...just the two of them. I snapped a quick pic as they were heading out the door. This little girl could barely contain herself...she was so excited!
Why does my 10 year old look like a teenager?! She was sitting on the couch reading and I just couldn't handle the grown up-ness oozing from her.
The girls and I love to cook and bake together. I can't remember what we were making on this day, but I do know that I have two super cute and willing helpers anytime I need them (most of the time)! I try to do this with them as often as I can, since before I know it they either won't have time or won't be interested. I will soak them up as long as I can!!
One of the things I love doing with the girls one day a week is taking them to get an after school treat. On this day, I surprised them with a trip to POParellas Popcorn Store.
Seeing a rainbow is fun no matter how old you are! They always make me smile!! We were driving home from Waco after visiting with my family...I was glad I was the passenger so I could snap this picture.
I love when I find that Landry has taken a "selfie" on my phone. And I love her self portrait I found!
Absolutley priceless and precious!
I snapped them talking to Daddy while he was away for work...Landry was telling him all about something on her elbow. I love how excited they are to tell him about their day!
Class Social with Landry's Class....what's better than a picnic lunch at the pumpkin patch?!
The girls and I had a "Date Day" and went to see Hotel Transylvania at the movies. It was fun to have popcorn and Icees for dinner. This Momma RARELY goes out of the box when it comes to meals, so when I say let's go to the movies and have popcorn for dinner...they don't ask questions, just in case I realize what a crazy idea it is and change my mind.
This is what I found one afternoon when I looked into the back seat while Landry and I were waiting for Ashton at pick up. At least Landry knows how to keep her baby safe!
I found this giant fella in our garage...and of course had to take a picture and send it to my Hubs (who by the way, does NOT like spiders at all)!
How did my 4 year old learn to do her very own "knot bun" hairdo? I am pretty sure Ashton was 8 before she mastered that one!
After our trip to the library, Landry actually ASKED me to take her picture!
A certain 4 year old in our house is extremely afraid of sirens and firefighters (I am pretty sure she is traumatized after we had to call them last summer). We knew the fire fighters were going to be visiting her school for Fire Safety Month.... and last year she was hysterical and wouldn't go near them. So we have basically spent all month "pep talking" Landry into at least staying calm when they came. Miss Karen (bless her) stayed with Landry the whole time. Miss Karen called me after they were finished and told me how great Landry did...Karen knew I would be worried and wondering how it went. I was so thrilled, so I took this girl to celebrate her for being so brave! She picked a milkshake before lunch as her treat!
Our behind us neighbor celebrated her 40th birthday and her husband so sweetly order that their yard be filled with pink flamingos and a GIANT sign announcing it to the neighborhood. I literally fell out laughing when I came out of the alley and saw their yard.
This year Ashton and I have started having weekly-ish dates where she and I go somewhere just the two of so we can talk and catch up. It is getting harder and harder these days because the things that Ashton wants to talk about are not things Landry needs to be hearing. This was one of our dates to Starbucks...I loved every second of it! I love being able to spend time with just my Big Girl!
Picture Day for this Pre-K girl! She did NOT love her outfit...but Mommy sure did!
Halloween at dance with Elyse!
Historical Day... Big Tex from our State Fair caught on fire! He has been such an icon for many years...he is the one whose loud booming voice welcomes all of the State Fair goers!
The girls helped me make Taco Cups for dinner...doesn't everyone cook with curlers in their hair?
I was pretty proud of myself for making HOMEMADE FROM SCRATCH Banana Chocolate Chip bread. Bobby and Ashton came home from softball practice and loved how the house smelled. Unfortunately, my family doesn't like their banana bread to have chocolate chips in it! Don't they know that chocolate chips make everything taste better?
I love looking back at the random pictures from the month. I also love that my phone allows me to capture so many more moments to document!
